I can't figure out why Disney charges 2 table service credits for pizza delivery. Where I live I can get a pizza for about $15. That's not worth even one table service credit!

Am I missing something? I know it's *delivered*, but my aforementioned $15 pizza also comes with free delivery around here :) Okay fine - with tax and tip - maybe $20.

:confused3

but it's magical DISNEY pizza, Andyman...it arrives with an extra sprinkle of pixie dust.:rotfl2:

Seriously, the answer is the same as for all other Disney pricing...they charge what the market will bear.

Personally, I don't think it's worth 2TS to get pizza delivered to your room. Most CS (if not all) in the resorts make the pizza..... you can walk down and pick it up yourself. I believe it's only 1 TS credit when you do that. ( someone correct me if wrong....) But I'd rather save a TS and walk and get it myself.....:thumbsup2

I think if you pick it up it is 2 cs, but it also includes a pizza, two drinks, and two desserts. We used this at POR at Christmas and thought it was a great deal. You could take it back to your room if you wanted. :)

YES!!! You're totally right, that's what it was. We thought it was a great deal too. We were staying at POR and their pizza was pretty good. I didn't want to waste 2 TS on a pizza !!!

For the OP, you don't say what resort you're staying at , but if you're staying near Epcot or Boardwalk, you could always get a pizza at Via Nappoli to go!! eat on the beach.....

What you are missing is the difference between ordering a pizza at home, and ordering one at a vacation resort.

Not only that, but the two TS per pizza for delivery applies to pizzas delivered at value and moderate resorts. If you are staying at a deluxe resort and order a pizza through room service, this is considered a room service meal for two persons. Because room service at deluxe resorts costs 2 TS per person, they will charge you 4 TS per pizza.

The information we have now is that Via Napoli doesn't do to go orders. You'd have to go in, sit down, order, when the pizza is brought have it boxed up, then leave with it.

I will agree with the posters that said the pickup pizza for 2 CS credits is a very good deal.

We did this at POP last time and ate by the pool. It was great. Good pizza, got to pick our own desserts and got extra bottles of water for in the park, because we used our mugs.
One of my best memories from the last trip.

We are at all star movies- but - ok two counter service meals is reasonable for all that good stuff...If two people go and pick up two counter service individual meals, you get charged two CS meals- makes sense to charge that for a pizza with drinks and desserts.

So essentially, now you're paying an extra table service only for the delivery?

I suppose catne has it right- it's all goes back to supply and demand...personally- I'm choosing the Hoop De Doo over Disney Domino's in this case ;)

:rotfl2::rotfl2: No kidding ! We're doing Flying Fish for a 2TS....no pizza's worth 2TS to me !!

You really can't compare HDDR to pizza delivery. HDDR is 2 credits per person. The 2 credits for the pizza delivery will feed the whole family and does include 2 drinks and 2 desserts. 2 TS credits for that to be delivered seems reasonable. You can go down to the food court and get it yourself and only use CS credits. Delivery will always cost more. Pizza delivery includes tip as part of those TS credits.

I think it's a good deal. More than two people could partake of the meal (pizza, drinks, and desserts).

We thought this was a great deal -- we did it twice. We used 2 CS credits to pick up pizza, 2 desserts and 2 drinks (and we had our mugs) to feed 4 people easily.

That is a valid point- HDDR is two TS per person, Pizza is two TS total...
However, I still think I'd hoof it down to the food court and save myself some TS credits...

That way the family still gets the pizza delivered, just- by daddy :rotfl2:

I think pizza for two TS credits is crazy. I would just choose not to do that. The two CS with dessert and drinks is something I might look into.

Honestly, we were all kind of just joking around about using the 2TS at a restaurant instead of using 2TS for pizza......no worries....:goodvibes

Just walk to the foodcourt and use 2 CS for a 16 inch pizza with toppings, 2 desserts and 2 drinks. Great deal.

We did this at all star movies. I know they also offer it at POFQ. It wasn't advertised that I saw, I knew from the DIS and asked.

we have also done the two CS for a pizza deal, although i totally understand getting delivery for two TS... while it's not the best use of credits, neither is an order of pancakes via room service, but it suits certain needs sometimes... the way my family travels, we often dine apart (i.e. teens sleep in, dh/i take toddler to character meal) and sometimes have an uneven number of TS credits and this is a great, convenient, lazy way to use 'em!

also, when using the two CS credits and doing pickup, they will often permit you to substitute a salad or fruit for one or both of the desserts... we find this an even better use of our credits 'cause we all love our salad!

They charge more for the "room service" part I guess.
