Pixie Hollow and Princess Fantasy Faire

1) How late is PFF open?

2) Is the line going to be tons worse around dinner time than it would be early in the day?

3) I was thinking some of the princess "stars" (Belle, Aurora, Cinderella) were more likely first thing. Will the princess selection likely be much different later in the day?

1. Currently, till 6pm. I'm not sure they extend it for summer, but they have extended PH's hours for summer in the past.

2. PFF seems to remain popular throughout the day. But if you just slipping into the parks late perhaps you don't mind waiting.

3. That is hard to predict on any given day. You could get anything from princess Minnie to Mulan in PFF. If there a certain princess she wants to meet?

So if I was IN line by 6 at PFF, am I good, or do they cut the line earlier?
We are arriving mid-day on a Sunday, and have park days the following 2 days. But I want to add a "princess" evening for my daughter and me, starting by seeing the last show of Aladdin. I think it's around 4:10, then going over to PFF. Then we won't have to structure our 2 park days around any of those time hogs.......

I do hope they bring back the coronation!

When we were there in 2007, while we were waiting for the coronation to start, they came up to my brother-in-law and asked if he wanted to do a private meet and greet with a princess afterward. Of course he said yes! They gave us a special coupon, and then after we went behind a curtain at the side and had about 10 minutes for the kids to talk to Princess Aurora and take photos. My daughter was 7 at the time and still talks about it at age 10!

I'm not sure when they cut the line.

I heard about them doing the private meet and greets when they had coronation going on. I've also heard of people shelling out handsome $ for those.

We were there last week and got in line at opening, we got to the princesses an hour later and saw Tiana and Belle. We also saw the Drawn to the Magic show at CA and met Cinderella afterwards. We did AG last trip and I wasnt that impressed, I guess I would rather stand in line for an hour then pay a lot of money for fancy food and be somewhat rushed through the princesses, plus its a little hard to get good pictures in there with all the people and tables and windows. I think the coronation thing is suppost to come back this summer for a little while, too bad we arent going back until November!!

We had the most magical experience with Fawn, Tinkerbelle and Terrence the week before last. It was our 2nd visit to the fairies, this time with MIL who was unable to go the day before. Fawn remembered DD from the previous day, and she took DD by the hand and played a couple of games of hide and seek with Terrence and Tinkerbelle. Spent maybe 5 minutes or so. Even though it was Minnie Mouse jacket, Fawn referred to DD as "my Ladybug friend."

Does anyone know which Princesses are at Ariel's for breakfast? This will be our first trip to Disneyland and we have 2 young girls so meeting Princesses is a definite must.

I'd appreciate any info you guys can give.

It varies. We have been several times (to lunch or dinner, not breakfast) and most commonly we have seen Cinderella, Princess Aurora, Belle, Snow White, and of course, Ariel. We have also seen Jasmine and Wendy (Wendy was years ago). There will be a total of 5 (including Ariel).

When we went to PFF it was over an hour wait, but worth it for DD5. We had just done Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, and she was in her Cinderella dress, and just the look on her face when she saw that Cinderella was there was completely worth the wait (and the flu we brought home from the girl in front of us in line). She also met Snow White and Mulan.

At PH, we waited maybe 15 minutes at the longest. She met Fawn and Tinkerbell (and wore her Tinkerbell costume this time), and spent a few minutes with both. The length may have been due to the fact that there was almost no line. Tinkerbell even sprinkled her with pixie dust.

We were there last week and the lines were forever at Fantasy Faire. I asked the cast member if it was really worth the wait and told her we would also be doing Ariel's Grotto. She told us that Ariel's Grotto would be much better, since there are more princesses there.

I tried to get my daughter to go to Pixie Hollow when it first opened, but she was too busy riding rides. By the time we got there the line was 45 minutes.

Just back from 3 days at DL. We did both the PFF and PH.

My take on both of these...

Pixie Hollow was one of my (and 68 year old mother's!) favorite parts of the trip!!!! The Tinkerbell who was there that day was FABULOUS! She was just the cutest little thing with the biggest personality!! When we were at the front of the line (waiting for a CM shift change) Tinkerbelle played "peek-a-boo" through the grass blades with my DD. They got the biggest kick outta seeing her!

There was one other fairy there (no idea what their names are). Saw her first, of course. She was so pretty and really seemed to love "being a fairy". Their personalities make a huge difference in the experience. No idea who she was LOL but I really liked her.

And like I said.... Tinkerbell herself was FABULOUS!!! :dance3: Just the best little thing. My mom (68! hehe) told her she was so excited to meet her and Tinkerbell shouted out, "Well come on over and gimmie a great big hug!!!!" LOL I had to laugh when looking at the pictures because my mom is barely 5' and she was taller than Tink. LOL

Anyway.... Tinkerbell and Pixie Hallow was fabulous, in our opinion. Loved it.

Now PFF on the other hand....

Ugh.

:sad2:

Extremely disappointing.

We were at DL for 3 days. The lines were busiest here of course. We didn't make it day one and two (BTW, why does the most popular attraction at DL open late and close early???)

My girls (ages 4 and 5 1/2) are HUGE princess fans, of course. So we had to make it work and see them! They kept asking over and over again if they were going to see Ariel. I told them I didn't know which princesses we'd see. Ariel is the clear favorite in our house, though so we were REALLY hoping she'd be there.

Anyway.... got there at 10:15a yesterday. (Park opened at 10:00a and PFF opened at 10:30a). There was already a line, but it wasn't too bad..... or so I thought. OMG, that line moves sooooo slowly, yet we were so rushed when we got up there! :sad1:

After an hour of waiting in line, we finally got up to see the princesses. The girls really didn't know what to expect. When I asked a CM who was working there what we were going to see, she tried to explain it to us and said there were 7 rotating princesses (or something like that). Well I guess I misunderstood or something and I didn't realize there were only 3 at any given time.

Anyway... finally made it to the front of the line.

Saw Snow White and Cinderella. The girls were kind of shy and disappointed we didn't see Ariel, but nevertheless said "hi" and smiled for a picture. I hate to say it, but the princesses had very little personality and it wasn't "magical" at all. Nothing like Tinkerbell. :sad1:

We turned the corner for the last princess (still crossing our fingers for Ariel!!!!) and who was it???

The Fairy Godmother. :sad2:

Seriously??

I mean, I know everybody has their favorite princesses and they rotate and they can't guarantee anybody at any given time... but seriously?? Who waits in line for an HOUR to see the Fairy godmother?? :sad1:

I was very disappointed, but put on my smilie face for the girls sake. :cheer2:

Anyway... made our way through and got our pictures and were rushed out. I hid my disappointment in front of my daughters, but honestly, was really, really bummed with this experience.

Then......!!!

There was a princess shift change!!!

:yay:

We were so excited because we finally thought we'd be able to see Ariel!!!

:dance3:

The three princess left (well, two princesses and the Fairy Godmother) and we waited to see who was coming next. We were at the exit area were nobody else could see them.

Sure enough, here comes Ariel!!! I scrambled through my purse to catch a quick picture. My mom called out her name so she would turn around and I could take her picture, but all she did was put up her hand as if to say "no" :snooty:

:sad1:

My girls we SO bummed!

They caught a quick glimpse of her, but she wouldn't even turn around for 3 seconds so I could take a picture. :sad1:

Now keep in mind NOBODY else could see her! It's not like she was thinking, "oh if I have to stop for you, I have to stop for the next person and the next person and the next person". NOBODY else was there except for us. :sad1:

Anyway...
Like I said, I emphasised to my daughters how fun it was to see the princesses and hid my dissappointment in front of them, but over all I was very, very bummed with the entire PFF experience. Especially for that kinda wait. Nothing magical about it at all.

But Pixie Hollow..... GREAT!!!
