I am staying at the Polynesian with my family at the end of August. I am interested in having a Lilo plush toy waiting for my six year old daughter in the hotel room. I am staying concierge so I did not know if that was something they could arrange for me. If they do not do that, I was wondering if anyone ever used pixie gifts before. I know it is a minimum of $75 for a basket and I was wondering if that was worth it for the service and items they provide. Could some of you Disney experts give me help with this? Will concierge arrange for the doll to be sent up from the gift shop? Is Pixie gifts worth the money? Thanks so much for your help. All of the information on these boards has really made my trip planning easier!!

Hi, I'm staying at the GF concierge at the end of July. I'm trying Pixie Gifts for the first time. My oldest really wanted a Stitch plush animal. When I talked to Cindy at Pixie's, she asked lots of questions about the kids interests and she came up with some great ideas. She was even able to get those hard to find Guest of Honor badges for me. She said that everything would be wrapped individually and left at the front desk for me. I guess they don't do room delivery at the GF. I'll post again to let everyone know about the service, but so far I've gotten a good feeling. On a side note, I've seen lots written about the Gifts of a Lifetime service also.

I have used Gifts Of A Lifetime twice, both last Christmas. I requested nine Guest Of Honor badges to be delivered to my resort on the day of my arrival. They were waiting for me upon check-in at my resort.

I also used them for a special "event" for my young daughter. That event was priceless. I have a post regarding it that is found here: link to my "Santa's Sleigh Event" post (just search through that page a few posts until you find it). I have photos of that event that are found here in my on-line photo album.

Hi,

Just returned from our stay at GF. As mentioned, I had been working with Pixie Gifts to arrange some surprises for my children. Well, we arrived at the resort on Saturday at about 1:00pm. We stayed in concierge, so we went up to the lounge for some snacks and a cold drink. As we were sitting at the table, I noticed a staff person walk off the elevator with a wrapped package. I followed her down the hallway and sure enough, it was my PixieGifts.com order being delivered. When the kids got to the room and saw them laid out on the bed, my youngest one thought that Christmas had come to Disney. There was a Cinderella dress for the 6 year old to wear the next morning for her breakfast with the princess's, a plush Stitch doll for my 16 year old daughter, collectible pins and an Epcot passport for my 12 year old son, plus guest of honor badges for all of us. Everything individually wrapped. I was very happy with the service. Cindy and Beth did a great job.

You could email the concierge staff and ask them. They are very nice. :D I had a couple of questions/requests before we left and they were addressed within a day or so via email.

IMHO....Gifts of a Lifetime...is OUTSTANDING!

I am biased...as Jane there did an aweful lot to help the DIS recently send Stephaine (dying mother of 3) w/kids to the world....they're very helpful, imagitive and kind. :)

Tammi,

Thanks for getting back to me. I hope you had a great vacation!

I have been really impressed with my conversations with Beth. She is very professional and has lots of patience...I have had to make a few changes and have added things to the order. I am really excited to see my daughter's face when she gets her gifts. I love your analogy of it being like Christmas coming to Disney.

Thanks again for remembering to get back to me. I feel very confident that I made the right choice by using Pixie Gifts.

Sincerely,
Caryn

Goofyposter,

I've only heard nice things about Gifts of a Lifetime also. The reason I chose Pixie Gifts over them this time was for the Guest of Honor Badges. Cindy was able to find them for my group and they were a definite hit.

confused: What exactly are Guest of Honor badges? I've never heard of those before?

guest of honor badges are the oval shaped name badges that can be purchased in the parks/downtown disney. the are very similar to the ones the CMs wear. they are different colors w/different characters on them. ours are green w/tigger.:p

Sorry if I am being a pain! Do you get any special kind of attention if you get those badges?

I am planning a trip with my family and my best friend's family and the Gifts of a Lifetime or Pixie Gifs ideas sound like a great way to start a vacation!

margiemc,

We wore our guest of honor badges throughout our stay. Unfortunately, they didn't get us to the front of the line or anything, but all the cast members who noticed them, called us by name. I think wearing them got us some extra attention as being true Disney junkies. Don't know if it's still the case, but these pins have been very hard to find. I believe only the Christmas Shop in Dowtown Disney is carrying them right now. Something about the style being changed, so they are depleting their stock.
