We called today to switch resort reservations for the 100,000th time! We decided that we wanted to stay in WL after long diiiscussion about what we wanted in this trip. So, I called this morning to switch and asked the CM to check both deals....the room only and the S/P/D deal. She put me on hold while she checked.

She came back and said that the room only at 35% off would be the better deal. I inquired if she meant 25% because that is what is was online. She said that she knew that but the price she was giving me was at 35%. A little bit of pixie dust she said! Nice! It saved us about $200 more on our trip. It wasn't because of a PIN because I asked if we had one and she said no.

I have never heard of getting pixie dust when reserving. Has this happened to anyone else? It made me think at first that they might we changing the percentage off at WL since it is 10% less than the other Deluxe resorts.

DH and decided this afternoon it was meant to be that we are in WL and we are staying there and not switching again!!!

Only 98 more days until our FIRST trip to Disney World. It is a huge surprise for our kids...they are gonna flip!

I wanted to follow up on this post because something happened that was not good at first but was really good in the end!

After we were given the 35% off the room, my husband and I ran the numbers on the disney site about a week later to see how much we saved versus the 25%. Imagine our surprise when we saw that our savings was 25% not the 35% we were promised. I called Disney immediately and talked to a very nice CM that explained whoever we spoke to did not have the control to make it 35% and it was definitely 25%. Needless to say, we were mad! I felt like it was a case of bait and switch. He suggested sending an email to the email address for guest assistance.

So, we sent off the email and it was courteous yet firm that we felt this original CM was wrong in promising us something she could not. The next evening, I was shocked to receive a call from Disney. It was a supervisor and she asked for more details. I answered what I could. She apologized and said the CM could not do that only someone in the back office. She said that she had an even better deal for me. She said that free dining had been out since October 10th and it would save me about $350 more. She asked if we wanted that. Ummmm, ok!!!! I meant to ask if the free dining was public but forgot. She made it sound like it was but as far as I am concerned, you have to have a PIN.

Anyhow, she got that all settled and she said she also wanted to have something sent to my children at the hotel when we arrived and asked if that was ok. I told her it was fine but not necessary. She had done enough already. She said it was no problem. No idea what they will send but it is really nice of them to do so.

So, I was impressed on how this was handled. I wonder if she went back and listened to the convo but have no idea. A lot of pixie dust and we have not even arrived at Disney yet!!
