I know it has been a while since I have last posted, and would like to thank the podcast for an excellent weekend at Dis-A-Palooza and for the wonderful people I met that weekend. Although, I was unable to make it to the TSM Meet or the Live Podcast Taping, I was there in memory. At any rate, I have a little request for pixie dust, as I am a recent MBA grad, and have a HUGE interview tomorrow. It is a panel interview at a Wall St. GIANT and I REALLLY want this job. This job is seriously MY DREAM JOB, and this is a second interview. So I am just posting to ask for everyone’s good wishes, prayers, and pixie dust. This is something I want so bad, it has been my dream since High School, with that being said I would like to thank you guys so much for being so welcoming at DAP and cannot wait to see you all again if I make it to PCC 2.0 (if I get this job! Because then I would be able to afford it LOL) thanks again for all your help and I will be sure to keep you updated.

You sound confident and sure of your qualifications.
Good luck!

Good luck!!! I'm a Chicago MBA so I have an idea of what those interviews are like!! You're going to do great!!!

Thank you guys so much for the much needed pixie dust, I am getting ready to head out now. I just had to check the boards first (its compulsive haha), and will be sure to let you all know how it when as soon as I get back. THANKS AGAIN! :goodvibes:goodvibes

Fingers crossed that you'll be able to update this thread with some good news!!! :thumbsup2

Well guys and gals.... I got home about 40 minutes ago from my wonderful FULL day of interviews. And unfortunately I did not get chosen for the position. It really hurts to say this because I thought I had it in the bag :confused3, it was a SECOND interview with a great organization.
With that being said, the reason why I know I did not get the job was because mid way through the interview, I recieved an e-mail, which I read during the break between the technical and panel interviews stating that they were not interested. Now, funny how that seems to come to my e-mail DURING my interview. I sense some sort of Nepotism or something else being involved as after they continued to interview me as though nothing happened.
After the interview I immediately called my HR contact, and she stated I was correct they had made an offer during my interview. I am sorry if this is long, I just need to vent because I didn't think it was fair, let alone forthcoming. Something this company is trying to focus on... transparency and integrity. I guess not anymore.
But guys, thanks for the pixie dust, and in response to that the second interview which I had following the technical and behavioral for a different position seemed to have went well. The position is something that is meant for an intern, but something is something. The manager said it is between 5 candidates, so please keep your fingers crossed I AM HOPING for this one.. oh please please please. Thanks again guys for all your help... your great!
A soon to be poor recent graduate (Anthony)

I'm so sorry anthony.. but hey reading that e-mail during the break of your interview must be awkward and weird, they obviously didn't deserve a person like you ;). Hope you get the other job, please let us know.

Just another bump in the road...keep driving and you'll get there!!! :thumbsup2

Oh Anthony! I am so sorry. Here is some pixie dust:wizard:

(Are you the Anthony that came to the Marty Sklar event and then had to head back home?? If so... I was the one sitting next to you with my mom :))

Debbie

I'm so sorry to hear this, Anthony! :( Hugs!

I know what it feels like to be craving your dream job. I wanted to be a fifth grade teacher since I was *IN* the fifth grade. Once I graduated college and moved back home to Jerzy, there were no teaching jobs anywhere. It took about a year, but I finally got my dream position teaching fifth grade...reading only!!!! I've been there ever since. :)

I'm sorry to hear that too - you're totally right, it's not fair. Telling you they're not interested WHILE you're interviewing?! What a waste of your time and totally disrespectful, if you ask me. I would have been really mad.

Hang in there!

Thanks alot! I totally have to keep that in mind. It just annoys me so much, as this company is so good (one of the only ones on Wall Street that are still profitable and did not have to recieve government assistance). But hopefully something will come up soon!

Hi Debbie! Yes it is, how was the rest of your trip? It is so nice to hear from you? how have you been? Thanks for the pixie dust, in this economy I totally need it!

Thanks alot for the encouraging words. I just have to remain optimistic, at this point it is the only thing I can be, because I cannot let it get me down. Thanks again, it def. means alot!

You have no idea how disrespectful it was, and to be quite honest to have to finish the rest of the interview knowing that made it three times worse. But, believe it or not, I called the HR recruiter afterwards and we spoke, and she let me in on some information that the managing director of the group was actually asking about me after my interview. So maybe they can still change their minds? can that happen? LOL. I am hoping so, because man oh man do I want/need this job. Thanks for all your help!

Seems like a yucky situation. My first thought when I read about this way "another great example of corporate waste" BUT then I thought that maybe they continued with the interview to gain information about you. Perhaps they can use you in another capacity?

I too have been job searching for FIVE YEARS now! I am an English teacher in MI and there are like 42000 of us for every available job! It is discouraging, BUT even though the interview didn't end up going the way you wanted YOU got invaluable experience during the interview and you will be that much more prepared for the next one.

Best of luck to you, I hope you get everything you want out of your job search!

Thank you very much for those encouraging words. I wish you the best of luck also in your job search. It seems to be almost everyone I have met recently is looking for work, it is hard. But I am optimistic we all will find something!
