High School can be so hard.... and the not knowing what your future holds makes it even more stressful!

He is actually going with a long time friend of the family. She has been there for him to give advice on girls, being a teenager etc. He didn't ask her to begin with because he said it kind of felt weird, but he finally decided to. This girl is absolutely gorgeous inside and out! She was a little nervous about accepting because she didn't want him to think it was a romantic thing, but her mom convinced her otherwise.

I am so happy your son has a date for prom! Having that good friend to step up is God sent. Our autism DS had a BFF who turned out lately not to be BFF. She has grown up and wants to be with other girls her age rather than our 7 yr old son. It is so sad because we have a hard time getting him to understand why BFF doesn't come over to play.

It is such a hard place to be in and prayers for everyone who is the parent of SN child.

This is one of the hardest things my son things experienced. He had two friends actually bully him because it wasn't cool to be his friend and they had to prove to their other friends that he wasn't their friend. He didn't want them to get in trouble however. I had to tell him to send a message to one of them if the nasty messages didn't stop coming in on his voice mail we would be forced to press charges and that stopped. She later tried to claim it was her friends that did it and she didn't know she had her phone. It is hard to make him see through this kind of thing because he is so trusting.
