Pixel Chix help

After years of my DD asking for a Pixel Chix, we finally broke down and got her the house for Christmas, but now we can't get the thing to work on a consistant basis. She hardly played with it for a week because all the chix would do was come into the house, dance and her comb her hair. No matter what buttons we pushed, the same thing happened each time. I figured out how to reset it last night and DD was able to play the games and control the girl but this morning it was back to the same thing as before. I tried resetting it again, but it doesn't seem to make a difference. Can anyone help me figure out how to play this thing?

You might try changing the batteries. Ours worked fine for the first few days. When it started going wacky, we changed the batteries and it worked fine again.

I did change the batteries and it was still acting weird. It did work for about a minute tonight and then kept shutting off. Thanks for the suggestion though. I have a feeling we got a broken one.

My dd (7 years old) also got a pixel chic roomie house. It was not working properly either even after putting in new batteries. A friend of mine told me to take an opened paper clip and gently scrape the little horizontal slot that the pull tab comes out of. (The pull tab is supposed to automatically be removed as you open the package.) Even though I could not see anything remaining in the little slot the pixel chic house started working properly after I did that. (Same thing happened with my friend--that is why she suggested it.)

Hope it works for you! You know it is working properly when the pixel chic gives you a tour of the house. That is supposed to be the first thing that happens when you start it up.

We are now on our 2nd Roomies House and neither will work right. I have read on other boards that many people are having issues with this toy not working. It was the top thing on my DD's list and I had just bought 2 more roomies on clearance yesterday for my DD.

I think we are just going to forget it and return everything. She doesn't seem to upset about it. She has had the Pixel Chix car and small houses and never had any problems with those.

I did see the Babysitter set and the Pets set and the Mall set marked down at Walmart and was wondering if I should just get her one of those? Anyone know if these are working any better?

Thanks for the responses. I'm glad I am not the only one dealing with a bad a bad Pixel Chix. I ended up returning it today and my DD plans on taking the money and picking one out for herself. If we have any problems with it, I'll make sure to check the pull tab first. Thanks for the suggestion!
