Pixar Play Parade

I'll be there March 14-15 (Sat-Sun). How early do you need to camp out for this parade? I have the VIP seating from Chase - but I've heard it's not the best view as you are looking straight into the sun

Any suggestions? Not sure how crowded the parks will be . . .

My best suggestion is to get one of the benches at the end of the parade. We were there two weeks ago and grabbed a bench in front of Corn Dog Castle 10 minutes before the parade started, no problem. Everyone seems to want to see the parade at the start. We had perfect views (no one in front of us) and a bench to sit on.

When I was there in November, I sat on a bench near Wine Country Trattoria about half an hour before the parade started. I noticed that most people in DCA don't claim their spot early on like they do at Disneyland. Most of the benches around me began to fill up only five minutes before the parade started.

We went last March, when the parade was brand new. It was "broke" down for the first 4 days of our trip & finally the 5th day, we got to see it. We got there about 30 mins prior & had front row seats for it. Not sure how popular this parade has gotten since then, but if you head to that area & people are starting to set up, find a nice spot & relax till parade time.

We didn't find we had to camp out much in advance at all the two times we saw it in September. One thing to do is grab some dinner (sandwiches or burgers at test pilot grill are good) and sit and eat dinner while waiting for the parade.
