I keep reading about the crowds and the pushing and the shoving that comes with viewing the fireworks. I just found out there is a "Pirates & Pals Fireworks Voyage" that sounds kind of neat. Our twin DDs will be having a birthday while we are there in October and we thought it could be fun.

Has anyone ever done it? What was your experience like?

Hey Fellow Canadian! :goodvibes

We did this to celebrate our DD's birthday in August 2011! It was so totally worth the $$$! It was so much fun! The amount of food you get is crazy and the character interactions are just fabulous! The girls still use their bandanas they got for dress up!

Agreed. We did this when the girls were 3 and 5. Great characters, fun games, plenty of snacks and amazing view of the fireworks. I thought it was worth the money too

We did this last year with 13 yr old nephew and 11 yr old niece. We all loved it!! The entire experience was so much fun! The interaction with Captain Hook and Smee was Wonderful and our pirate guide was so funny! i definitely recommend it. If you do, I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

Another vote for yes it's worth it. We had a great time and the pirates were very entertaining. Lot's of fun and we got to see the water parade and the fireworks from a relaxing vantage point on the boat. :goodvibes

I am so glad to hear such positive reviews. I just spoke with DH and he also agrees that we should book it (I just have to wait until late April to book though)! :)

I do have another question, can you hear the music from the Wishes show or are you just able to see the fireworks?

In the meantime, I'll have to get the Peter Pan DVD so my DDs can watch it (they've never seen the movie before) so they'll know the characters.

Love these reviews, just booked it a couple of days ago for DD...we had to move our plans around to accomodate the Fri-Mon schedule only, but glad to see it'll be worth it. :)

We did this for the first time last year and just again last week :-) They dim the lights on the boat and pipe in the music---from the very beginning to the very end. Gorgeous view!!

We took a group of boys for my DS's 6th birthday back in Oct. It was a blast. The kids all got some sort of trinket for trivia questions. The characters were awesome. Music is piped in so you get to hear Wishes or in our case Hallowishes. We reserved first day available so we were in the front of the boat which was great.

When we were at WDW last my DS was 3 and was scared to death of the fireworks because of the noise. On 4th of July he stays in the house to view them because of the noise but he likes to watch. So on the cruise is it loud? Is it a meal or just snack foods? What characters? How much per person?

It's $54 per adult and I think $32 per child. Not a full meal prior, but good snacks from what I understand

I'm doing this for the first time on Monday night. I'll let you guys know what I think after that.

We are thinking about doing Pirates&Pals if we can't get a ressie at the TT dessert party. My parents hate crowds but would like to see the fireworks, and I think DD would love meeting Captain Hook and Smee. One question- can you see Tinkerbell fly from the boat? Or is that something you need to be in MK to see?

Where can I find out more info about this cruise? Where does it leave from? How early can a trip be booked?

Age 10 was adult price.

You call reservations and book it...it leaves from the Contemporary Resort.

After going back and forth on the TT dessert party and the Pirates Voyage I picked the PV. Seemed like a better fit for me and my kids.

YOU have never done the Pirate and Pals cruise?!?!?! Ahhh...I can't wait to tell DD that she has actually done something "that pirate dude" (as she calls you) hasn't done. :rotfl:

The cruise is awesome. We plan to do it again this year. Have fun! :goodvibes

We just did this on Christmas eve for DD's birthday. We had a great time and Hook and Smee were great. We didn't have a great view of the fireworks as we were at the back of the boat on the right hand side (as you look foward), even though I booked the very first day reservations were available! Still saw them ok though, and this worked better for us as DD wasn't sure of the loud bangs!

The "icing on the cake" for us though was that the special guest you get to meet when you get back to the Contemp is DD's favourite, and she was beside herself at meeting him! :goodvibes

Claire :)

I just booked this for my daughter's b-day week, Peter Pan is her fave movie and character....PLEASSSSSSE tell me this is who I am hoping it is. PM me if you don't want to spoil it for anyone else.

I just booked this for my daughter's 6th birthday. I had called about another tour when the reservationist informed me about this one. It's a surprise for DD. She doesn't even know that we are going to WDW. DS is 2 so even if I told him, he still doesn't understand. But this will be his 3rd trip to WDW. DD and DS love Jake and the Neverland Pirates so this is perfect! Cannot wait!
