Pirates opening soon?

Is it too much to wish that they can get it fixed properly AND have it open a little early? Taking a first timer the week of 9/12-9/19 and she is bummed that she won't get to ride it. C'mon pixie dust!!!!

Are they offering FP+ for the 26th? My FP opened last night and I forgot to look as I was doing it. When I go to change experience, I don't see it.

Disney could if they really wanted to, but it would cost them more - and you know how Disney likes to watch it's costs!

It's a Shame we can't convince Johnny Depp to visit the park in early Sept - THEN they'd have it ready

Problem with that is we wouldn't have an Olaf's chance on a hot summer day of getting anywhere near there if he were to show up--but I'd sure love to see that happen

It needs so much refurb (broken animatronics & splashy boats) that I would really be surprised if it opened weeks early. Still hoping for pixie dust for those at MK this summer but it's in bad shape. I rode it last Fall and again in February. I got soaked. More than Splash Mountain. You aren't supposed to get wet on POC. My feet were soaked, butt soaked, half my head soaked and a mouth full of water. And its nasty water in there. The boats they took on from Disney Land are not working properly. The intro wasn't working. Fog not working. Projection screen not working. When the ride ended in front of Jack Sparrow, the boats behind us did a chain crash and hit the back of our boat hard. The ride desperately needs some TLC.

Yep I agree! We got soaked for the past two summers on it (we sat in the first row). My kids are soooo bummed we won't be able it ride it when we go this August. It's a tradition to ride it a few times every time we are in the World.

tradition for us too, we honestly ride it like 6 times while we are there at least. we love beatin the heat, we love the ride, and its normally a super short wait and its something we dont mind doing over and over again when other things are busy.

Yep, plus my munchkins LOVE the gift shop it conveniently ends in!

It has to be one of the best rides to cool off in. Just walking to the ride, you feel like you are in a cold dungeon. I love walking to the ride, so dark and cold and out of the blistering heat of Florida. We are there from 8/26 thru 9/6, I hold out a little hope it might open early but know it probably won't.

I went to make FP+ reservations on the 24th and the 26th for our upcomming trip. The 24th said closed, the 26th said standby only. I'm guessing it will be open on the 26th without FP.

I haven't heard anything, just Sept 26th. I don't see it being open a month early. Maybe a few days, but not a month.

The CMs that said the info about opening in August probably have no idea what their talking about and going off rumors. You can't trust the word of CMs that aren't a part of the refurb process

Any news on the refurbishment? We leave the world 9/26 and am holding out hope for early opening or soft opening. Do these things happen? I'm not real familiar with how they handle closings.

I am pretty sure most rides get soft openings before announced re-open and grand opening. I was there for POTC soft opens when they added Jack Sparrow before its official unveiling. Don't know about weeks though, just days.

PotC is listed on wdwinfo and other sites as being one of the open attractions for 2015 Night of Joy Sept 11-12. We'll be there that weekend and at Night of Joy. Perhaps a soft opening for the special event, or does anyone know if these lists were just carried over from previous years?

When we were last there a castmember told us September 25th. We will hope it is that soon. Feels like it has been closed forever!

Anyone have an update for POC? We on the 8th for NOJ and would love to ride! Just wondering if anyone has happened upon a soft opening?
