What is this ride like since the movies came out? I haven't been to WDW in 10 years and this was always my favorite ride. Have they changed it much? Are there any of the characters from the movie hanging around? I'd love to give Captain Jack Sparrow a big old kiss!

Jack Sparrow shows up maybe 3 times. To be PC a few years ago, they changed it from the men chasing the women, to the women chasing the men in a scene. I'm sure others will come up with some other changes.

They've updated the ride a little bit by adding a couple of animated Captain Jacks throughout the ride. Also, a Davy Jones projection. And outside the ride is a show called Pirate Tutorial with Captain Jack.

There was a Captain Jack Meet and greet at the Pirate and Princess Party...not sure if it will be continued after the party, though.

it's just all about jack isn't it?

davy jones also makes an appearance. absolutely some of the best effects in the attraction too. i even have a decent photo somewhere.

At the beginning you go through what looks like a waterfall with davy jones ( the octopus guy), it turns out not to be a waterfall but a heavy fog. It's a nice effect.

I might possibly be the only one, but I wish that they hadn't messed with the original ride. I don't like that they put Jack as an animatronic. It just doesn't go... Now outside the ride? That's ok with me. He's a good lookin' pirate!

I like the change they made in the final room...the treasure room I think it's called...where they now have jack sparrow doing a monologue...I think a cast member said it was like 5 minutes long...so when you get stuck there unloading you actually have something to listen to instead of the same phrase being repeated over and over...
