is this ride different than in WDW? today i got soaked - i don't remember people getting wet on the ride.

If you sit in the 2 front rows you can get splashed a bit. I have before.

I've sat everywhere in the POTC boats, but I've only gotten wet in the front and when I'm sitting on an end. By wet I mean, a drop or two. Nothing ever that doesn't dry within a minute.

I've gotten a little wet but nothing close to being soaked. The most I have gotten wet is .... Well it's like if you go to take a drink from the glass and spill some into your lap. That's as wet as I have gotten on POC. And that's my fav ride so I ride it 2-5 times a day on our trips to DL. I never get tired of it.

DH is a big guy and used to be bigger. I used to be bigger, too. If they put us in the front row or the second one back, it could get drastically splashy up there.

At WDW, on Splash there, they put us in the second row back, behind my cousin and her husband. They said they had NEVER gotten wet on Splash before, and they were laughing at our ponchos.

Ah, yeah...they got DRENCHED. Same thing happened to my marathon-running brother in the front of Splash at Disneyland...DH was put behind him, and SPLOOSH, soaked.


DH is glad he's losing weight, because he's tired of doing that to people!

We just got back from DL and went on POC 4x. We only got wet on one of the rides, and I noticed that the boat was very full with alot of adults and heavier people (including DH & myself) when we got what I consider significantly splashed. The other 3x there were a few spots of water, like one poster mentioned - like a drip from a glass.

Lately I've noticed the same thing and said so in my last trip report
especially if you are on the side of the boat a wave seems to come over the boat and get you wet
I got more wet on Pirates than I did on Splash Mountain

We usually sit in the last row of the boat and have noticed more water on the seat and floor (sometimes enough on the floor to soak our shoes) over the past few months. As stated above by other posters, the heaviness of the boat and how evenly/unevenly it is dispersed really affects whether you get wet. Also, if the boat behind you is very heavy, the wave that comes forward after it goes down the drop can pour over the side of your boat.

Nope, never been soaked, and since Pirates is my fave we ride it a lot! LOL I've been wet, but never soaked, I'm usually dry by the time we get off the ride.

I got pretty wet both times we went two weeks ago. I sat in the 1st row everytime, on the very end of the left side.
