pirate:

We are planning a watching party for the release.

Any of you creative folks have ideas for the food, decorations, activities, anything??

Kids or Adults?

I have been to two pirate kids parties this summer. Both got lots of fun costumes ideas from Oreintal Trading company. You must have a treasure hunt! For one party I did skull and crossbones face paintings as well. the kids went crazy. If it is for kids have them design and paint there own pirate flags on felt and then glue them on a dowl rods. Let me know the ages and I can give you more ideas.

I was looking for b-day cakes at FamilyFun.com and remember seeing a pirate boat cake.

You could also go to a party store and buy pirate hats to wear or bandanas. Maybe do something with a parrot too. You could also buy clip on hoop earrings for people to wear and eye patches!

There is great Pirate party ideas in the Penny Whistle Party Planning book written by Meredith Brokaw(Tom Brokaw's wife). If its for kids, let me know.

doncha just love it when you only get HALF the info??? Sorry...it's for teens--14/15/16---and lots of the kiddie stuff won't do.

I'm thinking of making black construction paper pirate hats and having them decorate them to wear. That, food and the movie are about all I can come up with.

It doesn't help that all I can think about it Haunted Mansion now!!!

That the Penny Whistle Party Planner had was to have white boxes that the kids could decorate as "treasure boxes". I had glitter glue, jewels, feathers etc. When the kids came in they got a white cardboard box(kind of the size of a shoe box)- I bought them from a Hallmark. They liked doing that a lot. Then we had maps of hidden treasure that we had made up a head of time. We had those chocolate gold coins all over the house. The kids put their party favors in their treasure boxes. The book also had variouse kinds of recipes for cakes, sandwiches etc in it.
