Pirates of the Caribbean - open?

We are leaving for Disney shortly ( ) and someone told us that this ride is currently closed. Is that true? I thought it was closing in April? If anyone knows, please share! Thanks!

Unfortunately, it is closed now. It may re-open for a while in April but then it will be closed until July.

Sorry to say that this ride was closed a few days ago I believe until sometime in July. Near the release of the new movie.

I believe it closed the 1st of March. They are going to be adding Capt. Jack Sparrow and maybe a couple of the other characters from the movies. I hadn't heard when it will reopen. You may want to check the actual WDW website. They list rehabs and closures in the calendar section.

Thanks for the replies! I am so BUMMED!!!! My son is in LOVE with pirates right now....unreal....any ideas of how to get his pirate fix in? He is three. I am hoping that Captain Hook will still be showing up by that ride even if it is closed otherwise he is going to be heartbroken! We even had to track down a Captain Hook autograph book! Any ideas would be welcomed!! Thanks again!

Is there any way you can do a Grand Gatherings? We did this last year because my nephew is a huge Peter Pan Fan. If you book the fireworks cruise/with Grand Gatherings, you will have a meet & Greet with Peter Pan, Mr. Smee, and a couple of pirates. The pirates will also be the captains of the boats while you are watching Wishes. We had a great time doing this.

WDW also started a new pirate adventure at the CBR. Check out one of the many sights for more info or call Disney. I know it cost extra, something like $23.00 or something and it is just for the kids.
