I need more inputs to pull me from the struggle:
Should I take my kids (5 and 8) to Atlantis or the pirate museum?

Could anyone who has been to the pirate museum tell me more about it?

We have been to both... It just depends on your kids and lifestyle.. our kids live near the beach /seaworld so they were not thrilled with atlantis cause all yu can really do is look at the aquariums on the tour there are awesome but... for my kids nothing special..the pirate museum was great for them mine are 4&6 and even my 4 year old loved it.. we took a cab there and walked back about a 10 minute walk but we felt we did not want them worn aout before the tour. Also 2 tips we had gone before and the tour is great but for our kids attention span we knew not to get it for them we just toured the museum on our own with the kids. If you are on teh tour it is great for adults teen etc but little ones do not listen that well.. also we stopped off at the gift shop first and bought hats swords/patches so they could wear them as they toured the museaum sionce we did not go with a tour we were able to spend a little more time in each roomaof the ship and let our kids imagination run and play... hope this helps..

I haven't been to Atlantis, but the Pirate Museum was a lot of fun (but a little hokey). My kids are four and five and loved it (but were a little spooked - a little older might be even better). It didn't take too long - an hour, maybe two if you really spent a lot of time. We did the Glass Bottom Boat tour at 10:30, got off the boat about 1:00, went to the Pirate Museum and were back on the boat by 2:30.

I kind of figured I didn't want my kids "looking" at a pool unless they were going to be able to use it - and the pool on the boats was fine by me.

In my humble opinion, the pirates museum would be a bigger draw for the kids, especially with Pirates of the Carribbean being out so recently. I have some friends who got to go to Atlantis a few years ago courtesy of his company....they said that while it was nice, if they had to pay, they weren't sure they would have done it. Just food for thought.

Can't speak from personal experience, but close friends of ours cruised in January and took their 8 and 11 year old sons to the Pirate Museum and they all loved it! Saw their pictures and they looked great. We walked around Atlantis last October and weren't overly impressed. I would lean toward the Pirate Museum.

My kids have not watched Pirates of the Carribbean but did watch Peter Pan and know who Capital Hook is. Will they still be interested in that?

I think so have they ever been on the pirates of carribean ride???

No, they are 5 and 7 years old. Last time we were at WDW was 2 years ago while they were 3 and 5.
