Wow.. I really let that go! I actually had to go back to my notes to see where I was at in my TR
So where was I? That's right. Speed. Yes, the Richard Petty Driving experience was fantastic, so says my DH. They are offering special right now for Father's Day for a ride for $59. That is a pretty good price. DH said he only wants to drive... not ride.
Since this was our take it easy day (for my sake) we sat out out on the balcony a bit and just relaxed to the sounds of the pool. Ahhhh.... I love the balcony! Then we spiffed up for dinner at the Sci-fi Dine In Theater. We have eaten here before and weren't very impressed. We made this ADR for the benefit of our daughter Shasha who saw it and wanted to sit in one of those little cars.
We boarded our bus with plenty of time to get to DHS and entered the park like pros. The lines did tend to be a bit long in the afternoons for bag checks so I went without a bag. I just threw 2 diapers, the pack of wipes and a bib under the stroller and walked right through the no bag lane ... no questions asked... NOT ONCE!
We got to Sci-Fi, checked in and waited about 15 minutes. I was impressed when our name was finally called by a young man rolling around on his skates! He skated backwards the entire way as he lead us into the theater. Here was our first glimpse of the restaurant...
Shasha went crazy! She loved it! We were lead to our car which had perfect placement dead center of the screen about halfway back. We sat down and admired our table. What a great setting! DH ordered an Italian grilled chicken sandwich and I had the Reuben. The kids both had the Mac and Cheese, french fries and tomato soup. We also ordered 2 cookies and cream milkshakes for us to share. We sat and watched the movies while we waited for our food.
The food arrived and that's when I remembered why we haven't made an ADR here in 14 years. The reuben was ok. DH said the chicken was alright... the best thing going for the meal was the kids' tomato soup honestly. The milkshakes were yummy but ... smaller than i remember. I guess I am used to Whispering canyon cafe shake
Obviously, you can see that we still enjoyed our cookie delight despite the small size.
We made the most of our meal and focused back on the artmosphere. That made me happy again... well that and the fact that SHAsha and Po thought this was just the BEST place EVER to eat!!!! The kids got their sundaes for dessert and we helped them finish them. The icecream was more of an icemilk consistency. This was not the brownie sundae
from the Plaza!
We hung around and checked out the sorcerer's hat for awhile. Shasha just thought it was the most magical thing. WE inspected it from all angles! On our way out we caught The Little Mermaid show and then headed back to the Animal Kingdom Lodge.
We have always wanted to do the night vision animal observation but have simply never made time. So after getting off the bus we headed directly down past the pool and got in line. We only waited about 10 minutes or so and the we were given our night vision goggles to view the savannah. This was soooooo cool! There were 4 of us... and we received 2 minutes each... so we had the goggles for 8 minutes! It really was a neat experience. I wouldn't skip out on Wishes if it were my only viewing opportunity for fireworks... but it was definitely cool to see!
Now... i will refocus and get this TR completed! After all I have 2 trips coming... JULY and AUGUST!!!
Oh... and I am really getting serious about this Premium plan for a night with the family next year!!! I priced it out and it is definitely doable!
