Pirates 4 in Troubled Waters?

With the recent depature of Dick Cook, it seems that there may be problems with the next installment in the Pirates franchise.

You never know with Johnny Depp though. He might just decide to say "screw 'em" no matter what they offer him. He probably doesn't need the money and won't have any problem finding another movie to do instead.

I'm wondering why they didn't wait until Johnny signed a contract before letting Dick Cook go.

I know Pirates 2 and 3 weren't nearly as good as 1 by any means, but I was really curious to see what they would do with just Captain Jack. Word was Will Turner and Mrs Turner wouldn't be in 4, a movie with more Capt' Jack and Barbosa, less romance, might be good and either way, certainly very popular.

I'm getting my hopes up that the attraction would return to it's classic form because of bad blood.

1) Look at/on the good side.
2) Without Cook, maybe they will make a good Pirates.
3) After Pirates #1, they sure went downhill.
4) Special Effects can't save a bad script or plot line.
5) And, sometimes Special Effects are just too much.

I guess I've been out of the loop. I didn't even realize they were doing a number 4. I thought it was a trilogy. I liked one and two. Three was a little...strange... It had its good parts though and worth watching if you saw the other two.

I didn't HATE the third movie, but I was okay with it being the last one. Oh well...maybe 4 will bring back the fun of the first movie.
