Pirate Suit-I want you all to think about this

Next time you see it happening, congratulate the person, tell them how nice it is and how happy you are for them. I promise it will deflate their attempts to make you feel bad, and even if it doesn't the act alone will make you feel good! :thumbsup2

Well I was in the Tiki room yesterday when someone came in wearing the pirate costume. I did say to him/her (didn't know if it was a boy or girl lol) - wow you got the costume congratulations and I told them it looked nice and to enjoy it.

I don't think he/she was trying to show off and I didn't even think of it that way. I said what I did because I'm sure some people are tried of the constant trade requests for their costume. If I had one I know I would. They should be able to wear it , enjoy it without the trade requests and bad comments.

If it was easier to get would I appreciate it less? NO! this is where I disagree with you, we all know how big a trader you are and how you like things to be rarer so you can expect bigger trades,

ahhh but here is where that doesn't work :) I don't have the suit. I did all the codes I am going to do and I just decided that I will wait until after my Disney trip to try to get it. So I am not hoping this costume is rare so I can get a bigger trade. I wish it was more obtainable like I said more middle ground.

I totally agree with Mal, Wolf and bevgray.
Yes. There should be items that are rare or somewhat rare.
But to tell people that something will be available to Everyone and then make it near impossible for everyone to obtain is simply wrong and unforgivable. Yes. Available to everyone who can sit for hours and hours and hours collecting codes and then sit for hours and hours and hours entering those codes and get lucky enough to actually get the one code in thousands for the costume (and not get banned in the process).

I do think that they chose to make the wrong item so rare.

They should have chosen something else instead of the costume of a hero.

And for the record, I did want the diver's costume only as a collector. IMO, that costume is uglier than the superhero costume. I only have one that I never wear. The Jack Sparrow costume on the other hand, I will wear a lot if I ever manage to get it.

I think it does work, I was not referring to the pirate suit whe nI made that comment I was talking about your feelings about trading in general.

I did not imply that you did or did not have the suit...was only saying that we all know what a big trader you are and how you feel about items being rare is all.

I LOVE Pirates, everything about them...they are just wicked awesome! I love the movies, i love the ride, i love the vmk stuff, i love the game....

Yes i may have the costume now and i have the green flips, but it not just a fad! I love the stuff and every stuff i get in vmk i always put in the time to use it.... So the diver suit is back in the closet, like someone said it more of a collectors item, which vmk kinda is. One big place to collect stuff! We are crazy enough to book a trip to disneyland or disney world to get the in park stuff only, so why can't we be crazy enough to want a stupid virtual costume and to put in endless codes to get it? If the costume may just be a fad, would then vmk be a fad? i have never liked a game so much in my entire life! The awesome people i met, the places i have seen, lessons i learned (my poor inferno!), also the things i have learned on the in-park quest if you never take the time to look at it. Yes one day vmk will sadly be gone :guilty: (hopefully like a hundred years from now), so why not go out of they way to get stuff you want, because you never know....

(if tht had no point sorry, i feel like crap today so if anything did not make sense just pass this post..)

cape girl- if capecad ever got the costume then you won't be matching, so i guess we would have to find some way for you both toget the costume...

i would love the sparrow suit i will wear it nearly all the time

oh, I see. The dive suit was before my vmk time. ;) Yes, the middle is good, but rarely seen, even in real life.

you can actually still get the dive suit! no one wheres it that or everest much anymore bc it is not rare. i have given up trying to get the pirates costume. i might try to get it later on so that i can trade it later on!

I am in total agreement with this comment. Just because something is easier to get, that doesn't mean I would appreciate it less. I would wear my costume proudly if I had it, even if every other person had it as well. I am ready for a new outfit, I didn't care much for the HSM outfit so bring on something new. My current favorite outfit to wear is a pink top, pink pants and pink shoes ~ things that are buyable and that anyone could get. Why? Well I think I look pretty in pink!!! :rotfl2:

A good example is fireworks magic. So many people have it, but then again, many do not. I worked very hard to earn that pin outright. But now I can get it whenever I want, but I still appreciate that pin none the less.

Supply and demand? Maybe, but would it kill them to make the odds a little better than 5000 to 1? Or could they at least show us what the code represented rather than forcing us to enter each code by hand?

:confused3 XYZ is back on sale? When did this happen? WHY WAS I NOT TOLD!?!?!?!? :rolleyes1

I think that they should do that but with a different costume because how many people do you think really would buy it if it was for sale? LIKE EVERYONE!

I can't even try and get the codes because I can't get the game to work. And yes I downloaded the Flash thingy. So is anyone willing to gift a costume or at least some codes? If your theory that some people don't care about pirates is true, I'd guess someone would do that.

i agree but there are ways to make something appreciated without only giving a costume to every 5000 people (using sparrow as an example)

yeah, but they up the price on it! Why did they do that nobody knows.... ;)

im pretty much going to go with mostly everybody on this, its not right that you have to sit there for hours to get a bunch of codes that really arent going to get you anything. i dont really know what else to say (since pretty much everything has been covered) but its wrong. i think they should have had an actual quest for it, or something like that. not just make it totally random. ohwell, thats vmk for you.

Pardon me, but what is XYZ?

EDIT: Nvm. :rotfl2:

i really think that the value is going to go down like anything else in vmk other then stitch inferno or green flips.. everyone loves something, then its over with just like kids in real life.. its a fad, once pirate month is over it is going to be over.. i was lucky enough to get one but traded mine for stitch set before the value went down too much
