Ok......sometimes I am a bit confused, I admit.....BUT, am I correct in saying that there is no longer the tropical party night on board the 7 day eastern cruise?? This is now a pirate night?? My family has the tropical Mickey outfits that we purchased for our last cruise, but if it is now a pirate theme, I need to find someone to sew me some pirate vests........and fast!! PLEASE set me straight on this!!

What about the Western Cruise.... My understanding was that the Pirate Theme was an addition to all the themes and there is still a Mexicana night? Is this assumption wrong?

I think....mind you "think"....that it has been implemented on both the Eastern and Western Itineraries to replace Tropical night.

If you already have tropical wear...still bring and wear it....it seems DCL is providing red bandanas to wear around your head (or I guess wherever you like) to get you in the Pirtate mood....hey bring an eye patch if you want!!!

For those who have experienced Pirate Night, please, please tell us more! So they give you bandanas, what about the deck party, how is that themed? Piarates has always been one of our favorite Disney attractions and the movie was just incredible, so we're very excited about this additon. We already picked out tropical stuff, but that still wors, we are still in the Caribean. We've worn tropical stuff for both the trop...and mexi.... night. So no one should stress over the attire.

Looking forward to sailing with the Pirates!

Another post said the Pirate Deck Party had Captain Hook and Mr. Smee.....don't know what other pirate perks there are yet!!!

Just sailed Aug14 Magic. "Pirates of Carribean Party" held on deck at 9:45 pm. Similar to other deck parties in that characters dance on stage, lots of music, etc.

The best part (for me) was the food. Disney puts out a "midnight" buffet, and a dessert buffet, on 9th deck. Like we needed more food.

The party went until midnight at least. It attracted LOTS of guests. It was a big hit and I suspect it will continue on future sailings.

All guests received a red bandana at dinner and their wait staff tied it on either the guests head or arm. It was a lot of fun. Many of the children bought eye patches and earrings at Mickeys Mates which added to the festive atmosphere.

So was this instead of Mexicali/Tropicali night or in addition to it?

This is the big question that so far I haven't seen answered!! :confused3

We were also on that W cruise and they had both the tropical night and the pirate night. Not sure that this was intentional. I had the feeling that they didn't really know what the schedule was because everything was thrown off due to the hurricane.

My family happened to be on the Aug 7th cruise as well. There was no tropical party only the pirate party. We loved the whole pirate theme very fun for kids and adults! Have a great time with it!

We had BOTH the Mexicalifragilistic Night AND the "Pirates In The Caribbean Night" last week on the 8/14 cruise. I am not certain if we had both because of the schedule changes or if this will be standard practice from now on.

Don't worry about "pirate outfits". The dress code for dinner is "Carribean". We all wore our tropical shirts. My sons bought eye patches in the on-board gift shop. My youngest also wore his new Goofy-the Sailor hat.

We had dinner in Parrot Cay that night, the perfect rotation for Pirates night. They gave everyone rolled up souvenier menus and red bandanas which you tie on your head. It was the most fun dinner we had onboard! The rolled menus may be dropped in the future since they present a logistics / storage problem. 2700 rolled pieces of paper tied with string take up alot more room than 2700 flat sheets of menu paper. So collectors should grab 'em while the grabbin's good!

I guess we need someone cruising this week to let us know what happens with them. Verandah Man, we need you!
