Pirate League reservations 180 days +10?

Saw on online that reservations for the Pirate League makeovers can be made at 180 days. Is this handled the same as ADRs in that it's 180 days +10, or do I have to wait until exactly 180 days from the date I want to reserve?

Also, does this tend to fill up quickly (specifically in May) or is it something that is relatively easy to get a reservation for.

I did mine at 180+10 for both BBB and pirates league.

I have heard of people being able to get this reservation relatively easy. BBB, on the other hand, needs to be booked ASAP. I would go ahead and get a reservation for Pirates League then cancel or try to change up.

I had figured that Pirate wasn't as popular as BBB, but I've got a very excited boy who wants to spend his 5th birthday as a pirate at WDW, and I don't want to mess it up, so I'll be reserving as soon as it's open!

In that case, you have an idea which day is the best MK day for you (Wednesday is often the EMH night) and perhaps reserve a couple, then cancel the one which doesn't work for your itinerary. A lot is probably going to depend on your dining reservations. It also says in the description something about a little parade (which he may or may not do, it sounds optional) but keep that time also in mind when making your reservation. I had made 2 BBB ressies, and 2 Pirates League ressies for my 2 DGDs, but had to cancel when they couldn't go with us. (school)

ETA: I was able to pass off the 2 MK BBB ressies to another DISer!

I really don't think making multiple reservations will be necessary, and I personally don't like this practice as it actually does take spots that others might want to reserve as well. I will reserve as soon as my window opens and work our day around whatever time I can get. We are a relaxing "go with the flow" type of family so it won't be a problem.

I agree. I only made 1 (for 2 girls) as well, but I knew when I was going. I was thinking you were on the fence. I also plan hard to be able to go with the flow, lol. Plus, as soon as I knew my 2 DGDs would not be able to go with us, I cancelled the reservations. While trying to pass off a dining reservation I was cancelling because they weren't going (1900 Park Fare) I was able to also give the person my 2 BBB ressies. I cancelled the Pirates League at the same time.

Would it be weird for a father/daughter to do the Pirate League together? My daughter wants me to be "pirated up" with her. Looks like fun if you ask me.

I think it would be cute. I had reserved it for my granddaughters. The last two trips they did the BBB and the costumes got to be too much. This time they wanted to be mermaids. Plus I like. The parade idea. Something different.
