Was going to search for this info first, but search is disabled...

Does anyone have children who have participated in the Pirate Cruise? My son is 4 1/2....I know that's within the age guidelines of 3-10, but would you say it is good for a child his age? (He generally does well with other children even when he doesn't know them).

What kind of boat is it? Does it actually look like a Pirate ship?

Any info/suggestions would be appreciated.

I can't answer any of your questions.

My son is going on the Cruise in June. He will be almost 4 yrs old. (he turns 4 in August)
My son does real good with people he doesn't know, especially if there are other kids around.

I am curious what others have to say that have been on it.

I think they are on pontoon like boats, we saw a bunch of kids in one the day we went to the contemporary for breakfast and they looked like they were having a great time.

My DD has done the Cruise and she LOVED it!!! The boats are pontoon like boats - they have bench seats for the kids to sit on.

When you register your child at the marina, you can help your child put on his lifevest. Then each child is given a pirate bandana and they are almost ready to board the boat. The kids are paired off with a "friend", and the CMs go over the rules. (Remain seated, have fun, etc) They all left singing a song. Upon their return, each child had a bag of "loot".

My DD really enjoyed the Pirate Cruise. She said the CMs were a lot of fun! Her only complaint was that it was hot (she went during the summer). They do provide a snack (PB&J, fruit drink) and as I watched all the kids getting off the boat, they all seemed to be really excited and happy! On her cruise, the average age of the kids was about 5-7; some were a little younger and some were a little older. They all seemed to have had a great time!

Where do you call to make reservations for this event? Does it sell out quickly? How long does it last and what days/times is it offered?

Thanks!

Hi there... my 8 year old loved the cruise - even though she was one of the oldest kids there...

I have some photos of it on my website link below (in the Disney Section)

Hope it helps..

You can just call Disney to make the PS. Sometimes, it does sell out since they only take 20 or 25 kids. Not sure on the exact days offered now (maybe Mon - Fri), but its from 10:00 - 12:00. (I had a late breakfast at the GF Cafe while DH took teen DDs to MK). You may want to check out Deb Wills site for some more info. Enjoy!!!

My son took the cruise at age 5! He loved it. While he was on the cruise, Mommy and Daddy rode the lake on mice! We had a great time. Worth every penny! ;)

cindyk - loved your pictures.

How do you get them so everyone can see them?

Hiya!

Do you mean how do you post a link to an Ofoto picture?

Go into your Ofoto account and then go to the picture you want to show in your album.
Copy the text in the address bar then paste the text into the post.

Ofoto is sneaky... you can see the one picture but not view the rest of my album without permission.

Oh Ok. so you can probably do the same with snapfish or shutterfly. I use snapfish, so i'll look into it.

Thanks Cindyk

I sent my son when he was five. 4&1/2 is not too young. Send him, he'll love it!!!

Fantastic pics and narrative, Janet2k!

Those really help to show what it's like. I have 2 daughters who I think would really like that cruise judging by what I saw in your pictures and from your info!

Just an FYI,

I booked my DS4 on the cruise in May and the time has changed to 9:30 - 11:30.

Beth is absolutely right.

9:30 - 11:30 be at the marina at 9:15.

I just double checked because I made PS for breakfast at the Grand Floridian Cafe while Dylan is on his cruise.
