Has anyone's kids done the Pirate Adventure cruise at the Grand Floridian recently? My DD has never done it before so we don't know what it was like before, but wondering if it has changed any since the alligator tragedy? Supposedly the kids go to the different hotels beaches around the Seven Seas lagoon, so wondering if this is still the case or have things been altered any. I guess I don't even know if the beaches are open yet around the resorts. I must admit I am a little worried sending my daughter out, without me, on a boat on the lagoon and to the beaches, after what happened earlier this year.

I wouldn't worry about the boat, but I read somewhere that they no longer stop on the beaches.

We didn't do the one at Grand Floridian so I can't speak with authority on that one. I will tell your about our experience, though. We were staying at Caribbean Beach and decided to have my daughter do the pirate cruise there. She was booked before the alligator incident and when that happened, I called to see if they were still going to have the cruise. They assured me that they were. Well, fast forward another month and we get an email stating that it was changed to "Pirate Camp". There would be no boat and everything was going to happen on the land there at Caribbean Beach. I called and they explained that they dock the boat on the beaches and with the beaches being closed, the boats could not dock. Because my daughter wanted to be on the boat, we decided to cancel. They then told us to consider the one at Port Orleans Riverside because those all dock at actual docks and no beaches would be involved. We ended up doing that and she loved it. They got off the boat at French Quarter, old Key West, and I think the Treehouse Villas. So, I don't know for sure what they are doing at Grand Floridian, but they did end up changing our cruise up on us at Caribbean Beach and stated the beaches as the issue.

Thanks! I called and asked about this and they said they still dock at the beaches at Grand Floridian, they just changed the Caribbean Beach one. Although I know how CM's are sometimes wrong.

I have not heard of this experience. Would you mind posting the link so I can read about it? I think my DD would love. Thanks so much!
