I just booked a priate adventure at CBR for DS 6 and DSS 12. Is the 12 yo too old for this? DS6 is really excited and really wants his brother to go. I actually think DS 12 may enjoy it. His mother has never really let him be a kid so when he is with us he loves doing kid things. Do you he'll feel silly or stupid. I haven't talked to him about it yet but what are y'alls thoughts on this?

The restaurant at CBR isn't open for breakfast so what else is there to do there while we wait for the kids?

Do they give Mickey ears or bandanas on the one at CBR? Do the kids ever dress up like pirates?

My oldest neice went with her younger sister and my dd's a couple years ago and they all had a good time.

He will probably but maybe if he is "helping" his brother that will help. I know my dd's love to do things with my neice as well so they can be "kids" again :)

I would call and see if you can get an idea of the ages of the other kids on that day. They may or may not tell you but it can't hurt. If there are a few other 10/11yo's that would be fine, if no one else is over say 7 that may be a problem.

ETA it was a long time ago and we did ours out of the Grand but they got bandana's and eye patches and lots of "prizes". Nobody dressed like a pirate but if your kids would enjoy it and its comfy why not.

MY boys 5 and 7 did the one at GF this past summer and they did get Mickey ears and eye patches and lots of little prizes. Most of the kids, looked to be 9 and under on that cruise. But if DSS and DS enjoy doing things together than DSS might enjoy doing this with him and getting to help him along the way, especially since as you said he enjoys doing kid stuff.

Thanks! I didn't even think to ask the ages of the other kids. What a great idea.

My son was bored at nine. He went again at ten to help his four year old cousin, and had a good time spending time with his cousin, but the cruise itself wasn't too exciting. He was the oldest on this cruise, his sister at nine was the next oldest - the next kid looked to be about seven. This was my kids third time, they've never gotten the pirate Mickey ears (once at the GF, twice out of the Y&BC).
