Piper's Practically Perfect PTR..Wish Trip! 3/2-8...Upd Pg 126- TR Link!! Hooray!

It is almost here!! I hope you both have an amazing trip!!

I laughed about the hypoxic coment...last year when I had to take Brian back to the hospital b/c of the port infection my sister had brought him an italian ice, Blue Hawaii- his favorite, and he was eating right before we went to the hospital!!! Blue lips on a CF kid in the peds ER got alot of attention!!!! Everyone that walked by would stop and look and have this very concerned look on their face.....and I would have to say, just ate a blue ice!!!!:lmao::lmao:

Thank you, Mary! It was so funny, because it didn't even occur to me until Camille said something to me on the phone!

I love the shirts girls! They look fabulaous! Amanda I love your hair cut too. I had mine realy short like that the last time we went and it was so comfy. We love Epcot too. Test Track and Soarin was our favorites. I love to sit back and enjoy the Soarin through the air.

I am lovin all of the pins! I think we are going to try to do some pin trading. I had decided before that we wouldnt do it but I think Sierra will love to so that.

Awsome big give box of goodies! Those pearls are georgous! I am so excited for you girls to leave so soon!! I cannot wait to read your TR!!!!!

Thank you! I am all about quick and easy..just a low maintenance girl! I'll let you know how the pin trading goes, but I'm sure Piper is going to love it! I think I have it all together..now I just have to remember where I put it! :rotfl2:

I am soo glad you explained the BLUE lips !!!! ONLY 2 days now !!!:banana:

I have a feeling your TR will rival Jordan's in length !!!! So many of us are anxious to see OUR Piper at Disney !!! Especially EPCOT right Piper !!!!:thumbsup2

Thanks, Rosie! Don't even say that about rivalling Jordan's TR..way too much pressure for me! :lmao: Seriously though, we'll take a ton of pics, and have photopass pics, you guys will probably be bored to tears!

Hi Amanda and Piper,

Just wanted to wish you a "Bon Voyage"!!! Can't wait to hear all about it!! Piper, we all hope you have a fantastic time at EPCOT, GKTW, and everywhere else! Looking forward to seeing pictures with your adorable smile in them!! :lovestruc

Blessings and prayers for a great trip!!!

Thank you! It's in our plans to get lots of pics at the village, simply because we haven't seen too many in the other wish TRs. I plan to detail it as much as I do all the other parts of the trip. :goodvibes:

We hope you have a wondeful, safe, pixie dust filled trip Piper and Amanda! I'm so excited for you!!! Can't wait to see pics and read the TR!!:banana::banana:

Thank you so much, Leanne!

I hope you have an amazing trip, Piper!!!

:cool1:

LOL Caitlin! I just finished posting on your thread..what timing ;) We are sooooo excited! I hope you guys have a wonderful time as well, but I know you will! :goodvibes:

Okay..so I've alluded several times that there was one thing I was not telling that could majorly affect our trip. I figure I've kept everyone in suspense long enough! Miss "I can't wait to ride Space Mountain" Piper has not been on a roller coaster since she was 3. At the street fair this past year I had to practically drag her onto the spinning cups (which she said she wanted to ride), and spent the next 3.5 minutes or so listening to "I don't like this..I want to get off..I want to get off..when is it going to stop" with the accompanying tears and hyperventilation such an experience entails. Needless to say, I am somewhat wary of what's going to happen when we get there. Now..we have watched YouTube videos of the big rides, and she still says she wants to ride them. Whether the tune will change once we get there is another story entirely.

Let's add on to this by saying she does not like boats either. For some reason she is bound and convinced any boat she gets into is going to sink. I was able to get her out in a duck boat (like a rubber canoe) with me a couple of summers ago, and once we got going she was fine, but big boats are something else. To try to help her along with this, I have told her that every boat ride at WDW is on tracks. Now I realize I may just be sent straight to H*ll for telling her such a thing, but I figured it was worth a try. She is very eager for all the boat rides, but when she mentions them, she always adds on to the end.."They're all on tracks, you know". Technically, I figure Splash Mountain is if not on tracks, between them...the rest, not so much. :lmao: My thought process with telling her that is after many successful boat rides, revealing the truth, heaping on the praise about how well she did on the boats, etc. We've actually talked about her issues with a psychiatrist, and we figure it's control issues more than anything else. She's the same way with a bike, swings, and the first couple of sled runs in the season.

All that being said, I've been reminding myself that it is what it is, and even if she has no desire to ride the "scary" rides, there are plenty of things she'll be fine with..ie..Pooh, IASW, Aladdin's Carpets, Dumbo. We would also have plenty to do with penny pressing and pin trading and generally taking everything in. The world is not going to end if she refuses to ride everything, and this trip is all about her. My only hesitation is not wanting her to regret not riding things down the road. She says she wants to ride Space Mountain first. If she changes her mind when she sees it, my plan is to take her to Goofy's Barnstormer, and see if we can't work our way up. Gram tends to give her a hard time (teasing) a lot, and I've already threatened her with death and/or dismemberment if she should say anything negative to Piper about rides at all while we're there..ie "You really think you're going to ride that".

Second twist..Piper has decided to completely forego Universal Studios/IOA in favor of spending the morning at DTD and the afternoon and evening at GKTW. Since we had planned US/IOA for Friday, and it's right in the middle of the trip, I think it will be good. More of a laid back rest kinda day rather than trying to negotiate not one, but two parks. She had been asking about doing a day at the village a couple of nights ago, and I told her we could do that, but she would need to pick something to forego. US/IOA immediately came out of her mouth. I'm actually fine with that, a small part of me may be a bit bummed, but only because I've heard they really put on the ritz for the wish kids, maybe even more so than WDW. That being said, I think the rest day will be a good thing, more than likely, and if she changes her mind, we can always hit US or IOA that evening.

Okay so that's the excitement for tonight! Tomorrow night will be the wrap up!

I don't hold it against you for one second! She needs to know they are safe, and you are providing that for her. ;) There is SO much to do without the big rides, you're right. Tessa won't be big enough for the really big ones, and I think we'll be plenty busy. I am curious to see how Phoebe does. We're going to go one level at a time. Can't wait to hear how she does. I can't believe you're going tomorrow!!! Hmmm, how late will you be up tonight???

Oh geez..not tomorrow, don't even say that, I'll start hyperventilating!! We don't leave until Tues morning..LOL. That being said..her outfits are all double bagged in two gallon bags, my clothes are all packed for the most part (load in the dryer as we speak), our shoes are by the bag, her pixie dust is by the bag..both of our "unmentionables" are all packed. I need to do our carry-ons tonight, I'm going to bag her refrigerated nebs tonight all in one bag so I just have to grab it, and do her pillbox tonight! Her actual vest is packed, they're renting one of the kind she used to have, so we won't have to haul one through airports. A good thing considering we are hauling her oxygen, nebulizer and pulse oximeter with us. I do have a list for tomorrow..I need to go to the bank, wash all the dishes(we may be doing carryout tomorrow night!), take off the trash, things like that. My goal is ONLY to have things like that to do tomorrow, so it may be a late night, but better tonight than tomorrow night!

OMGracious!! Not to send you in to "freak out mode" but it's less than 48 hours now!!! Oh, how I wish we would be there too but it's going to be wonderful hearing about all the fun she has when you guys get back. :cloud9:
No one will hold the boat thing against you...I did something similar with Mikayla. She really wanted to ride some of the bigger coasters but is scared to death. She was really pumped about Space Mountain (my fave!) and bummer...it was closed for renovations & didn't re-open until a week after we left. She's psyched about doing it next time.
Tell Miss Piper to have TONS & TONS of fun, take lots of pictures and enjoy GKTW.
 Have a great time!

Wahoo!!! Its almost here!! Its almost here!!!:cool1:
Can you believe it?!?! After all the 15 million posts and messages- its almost time!!! :thumbsup2 Its gonna be so cool! Tell Piper to trade pins with the people with green lanyards a lot too- Aleks got some really cool pins from them! They only trade with kids, no adults- so they tend to have some cooler ones since the advanced traders don't have access to them. I remebered this while looking at the pics of Piper's pins. She has lots!! Lucky girl!! And great job on the packing..... finally! :rotfl:

Too late, already freaked me out! :scared1: :lmao: I wish you guys were going to be there too, but you'll definitely be with us in spirit! I'm hoping she's going to be over the ride fear, but skeptical..LOL. Thank you!!

I know..the time has gone waaaay too fast! Piper and I have talked about the green lanyards, lol. We're definitely going to be looking for them! What do you mean finally ?!?!? It's not the night before! ;) :rotfl:

So, it would appear that my "one bag plan" has been foiled. I just weighed our duffel, and it's already over 50lbs. The limit is 40! :headache: I don't know whether to use a smaller duffel as a carry-on and try to get 10-20 lbs of crap in it, or just give it up and pay another $25 for a second checked bag. (They're $25 a piece, none free.) I have to be honest and say the frugal part of my mind is having a real problem thinking about paying for another checked bag..LOL. I think I'm prob going to try to do the carry on thing, I was just trying to avoid that when we already have:
Oxygen concentrator
Pulse oximeter
meds & nebulizer
My backpack
Piper's backpack.

While I am used to hauling lots of stuff, I only have so many arms. Hmm..unless I see how much I can shove into Piper's wheeled vest duffel...AHA! Moment. I can probably get everything in there except the O2, and have the two wheeled things. Truth be told, the O2 concentrator can prob go in there as well since she's not actually using it in flight, we're taking more as a "just in case" thing. I may have to mess with that stuff in the morning, it would make my life a LOT easier than trying to schlep everything!

OMG! My DGS Myles went through that last year at DL - he was 3 1/2. He decided that he wasn't going anywhere near anything that moved, even if it was stationary! He very happily stood with Papa and watched the rest of us ride, waving at us as we rode by! :rotfl2: He did like "Otopio" (autopia) which we had to ride about 6 times! :goodvibes We later learned it is okay for kids to feel that way, because they have a hard time separating stories from real. I think maybe at Piper's age, it might be about being old enough to know what happens in the real world, and going through so much illness and hospital, she has gotten a little fearful of things outside her own little world. :confused3

My suggestion for WIWM, Start with IASW!!! really nice boat ride on tracks - for a little girl, not to be missed! :thumbsup2 Save Splash for the last day! POC will be fun as long as she understands it's pretend! Actually, I remember DH's uncle telling his daughter at age 6 that everything at Disney is pretend, and we will just pretend with it and have a great time! Peter Pan will be really magical, then maybe you can graduate to Goofy's Barnstormer and to Buzz. I think Piper will start having such a good time she will forget about her fears! Okay, off my soapbox - Good-Bye again - have a great time! :dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3:

Amanda and Piper,

sorry I haven't been on a lot recently, but want to say HAVE A FANTASTIC TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And Amanda, you sound totally on top of things. Hope last-minute things tomorrow go smoothly.

Thanks, Tammi! I think she'll be fine once we get going, I just don't know, and we won't until we're there. The pretend thing is a good idea, we'll have to talk about that, it might help. The only ride she has said she doesn't want to ride is POTC..not sure why, but I'm not going to push it.

Thanks, Ann ..I thought I was doing pretty well until I weighed that &^%$* bag..LOL. We'll see what I can get figured out :goodvibes:

I hope you can get her on a few "good" rides, but all the rides are good....:thumbsup2

US/IOA...don't need to go there........;)
