Piper's Practically Perfect PTR..Wish Trip! 3/2-8...Upd Pg 126- TR Link!! Hooray!

After talking to her Dr, we're starting Piper on two more oral antibiotics (that's a grand total of 4..) to see if we can't at least get her past the holidays without IVs. We're also going to start a nebulized antibiotic. Hopefully between the 5 it will stave things off, if not eradicate them completely. (It'll either kill the bugs or wear out a path in the floor to the bathroom ..LOL.) All the positive thoughts and prayers are very much appreciated, I feel like lately every other week I'm on here saying we're going through more health issues, I think we're both ready for a break from them.

After much begging and pleading I broke down and let her make a snow angel after we got home from the drug store. She paid for it when we came in with about 10 minutes solid of her coughing, but she was happy, so I guess it was worth it. Hearing her laugh just brightens my whole day, esp when she's not feeling well. Now she understands why I won't let her go sledding or stay outside longer, which is a good thing, and now I don't feel quite so guilty keeping her inside.

Yay for antibiotics and no IV's. I really hope that they do the trick. I think you were a good mommy for letting her do the snow angel. She needed a little kid time.

Isn't that the hardest? Doing things "for their own good"? I hope the slew of antibiotics does the trick. Hard to believe it wouldn't, poor girl!

Awww.

I'm glad she got to make a snow angel and really hope the combination of everything does the trick for her!

what a sweet story about Piper and the snow angel.:goodvibes

Well I guess we're all ready to see how the added antibiotics work.:thumbsup2

Keep us posted for sure.

Snow Angel.....:cloud9:

Just de-lurking to see how Piper is doing. I hope that she is on the mend soon and that you all can avoid the IVs, especially with the holidays around the corner.:grouphug:

Thank you.. She had been very upset that I wouldn't let her out to play the past couple of days. Since she was already dressed warmly, I figured the ten min or so wouldn't kill her.

Thanks, Melissa..I hope they do too, but I'll be happy if they just put the bugs on hold until after the holidays.

Thank you..she was very happy with just being able to make the snow angel, didn't ask to go sledding or anything else.

Amanda Im so glad Piper will be IV free for the holidays and hopefully they do the trick.

Me too! I'm already going to have to lug her vest and nebs and O2 to Grams Christmas morning, that's plenty for me, lol. Thank you for the positive thoughts.

Thank you, Jordan, and I will keep everyone updated, we're not going anywhere major for the holidays so I'll continue to be on and off here. We have something special for you tonight too...you'll have to check a post or so down.

Thank you, Kelly  It would be nice if the cocktail got rid of all the gunk!

Okay, so I had left the room earlier to do something, came back, and this is what I saw...

To put up our outdoor lights, I take out the lightbulb and put a lil socket insert thingy into it so I can plug them into the light fixture..I put the bulb in a basket by the door so I would remember where it was. Apparently she saw it in there and had an idea..lol. Which actually makes the lightbulb even more appropriate. The connections she makes and her sense of humor amaze me sometimes. :lovestruc So, knowing someone who posts here often has an affinity for tongue sticking out pictures..I made her stick out her tongue before I took the pic. She thought it was hilarious that someone would purposely pose that way to take funny pics. So there you go Jordan...

This bulb's for you! :lmao:

Hehehe! I love the light bulb! She's got quite a wit! As for the tongue, GROAN!!! I can't believe you made her do it! At least she thought it was funny. :thumbsup2

I've resisted telling this tongue story, but after this pic, I can't resist any longer. My MIL has quite a few photos of DH as a boy, deep in thought with his tongue sticking out. She loved it, because her brother did this all the time. DH never met that uncle because he died while she was preggo with DH. She always says they have tons in common and are so much alike. Fast forward to life with our DD Tessa, who is an incredibly smart and agile little stinker, just like DH was as a child. I thought it was hysterical when I started noticing her sticking her tongue out as well, in moments of deep concentration. The fact that she is adopted just makes it all the more ironic. I call it "spiritual DNA". ;)

Praying that the antibiotics work for her and fast!! So glad you let her do a snow angel. :cloud9: I bet that was an awesome feeling for her and for you.

:rotfl2: The lightbulb picture is too cute!!

Oral antibiotics usually don't give her a problem, but she's never been on this many at once, so we'll see. Very glad she's not on IVs for Christmas, as is she.

I love it!!!!!!!

Thank you :) Tonight the laugh happened at Grams...she had to use the bathroom before we left..she always takes forever..the kid will already read in there! Anyway..I asked if she was done so we could leave and she pops out with "I think I have overactive bladder" :lmao: Considering we don't do a lot of tv, that one had to have come from either Reader's Digest or the newpaper. I thought I was going to leak I was laughing so hard!
