PIN's that don't work...how could this be?

I received my first PIN via email on 10/31/07 and I was so excited that I called right away. The deal states "Save 30%** off the nondiscounted price for stays most nights 10/21-11/3/07, 11/11-11/17/07, 12/9-12/15/07, 1/6-2/2/08, 2/24-3/1/08, 3/30-4/12/08, 8/10-9/27/08, 10/19-11/1/08, 11/9-11/15/08 and 12/7-12/13/08."

I called & spoke with someone who didn't sound very sure of herself (Michele) so when she told me my PIN code didn't work so I called back. The second person sounded much more knowledgable (Penny), so although I wasn't happy when she couldn't get it to work either (after trying for about 10 mins), she was at least more convincing. She thought it seemed like there were digits missing but I re-read the number several times. I asked her if I could've received the code before it was loaded in their computer systems, and she said "maybe" so I decided to call back again a few days later. Today I spoke with Trevor, and he couldn't get the code to work either. Now I'm getting really frustrated!

I realize that we already have a discount on our upcoming trip (free hopper & water option - only a $90 savings for us since we only would've gotten hoppers) and I can't apply a 2nd discount. I'm interested in either cancelling that reservation and re-booking it with the 30% off since it's a better deal AND/OR booking a totally new trip for December 2008 (which would be the dates they're offering).

If they're extending an offer to me, WHY CAN'T I USE IT? Is this a common thing? :confused3 If so, that's not very Disney-like! :sad2:

A day after the first email, I got the same email again (from Disney Destinations), with the exact same PIN code...and this one has 20% off instead of 30%...?

I would call again, and explain the situation as you stated above. Let them know three CMs have not been able to use the code, and ask to speak to a supervisor.
They may not have any luck either. However, I would think they could research what the issue is and get back with you.
It may be a system glitch they are not aware of. :confused3
It is a disappiontment that you have to go through so much just to use a code that was sent to you. :flower3:

and then go from there. It seems guest relations works better for issues. I remember a lot of people going to guest relations to get a deal before.

I got this same PIN email yesterday and the CM that I spoke with told me that mine didn't work either. I didn't have time to call back yesterday but I will today.

The bad part is that now that I finally got a PIN even if it works I don't think I am going to be able to use it because of DD's strict attendance policies at school!!! I'm trying to talk DH into going for our birthdays mine 2/29 & his 3/1 but it would be really hard to leave the girls at home!!

The fellow at reservations said that the PIN code in the computer didn't have the "0" at the beginning. Once he deleted the first "0" in my PIN it went thru no problem!! Hurray! I got 4 nights at the Poly, 5 day tix with hopper and the dinning plan for 2 adults, 2 kiddos for $2,643!!! :cool1:

Thank you, AimKo! I called and spoke with Penelope this time. I gave her the PIN and she got it to work right away (she dropped the zero without my asking her to)! She ran a quote for me, and I'm sad to say, it only gave us about a $90 savings (which seemed odd, at 30% off, I was expecting a savings of $200 or more).

I had her try for DEC-2008 so we can wait to see what else might come along...thank you all again for your advice!

I get disney destinations. When you get a code, is it an e-mail that is only about the code or is it part of a newsletter type thing? If in with other info, where is it located? Thanks.

I would like to know the answer to this also. I received a new email yesterday. It is the newsletter with the code ZVX, with dates of Jan - Feb. Does the pin come with this newsletter? If so, where is it?:confused3

I too get the "Disney Destinations," but never received a pin code with it. Can someone tell me what I should be on the lookout for? Is it that obvious, or am I just not seeing it?:confused3

When I received my email with the 30% off code, it was from Disney Destinations but it had my name in the subject line.

My email specifically had a code in a box in the lower right. When I got my reservation there was a 3 letter code on what I got back from Disney instead of any reference to a PIN number. Why don't you call Disney, tell them you got the email and ask if there is a PIN number associated with your name. They can look you up and see if you are showing in their system as having a PIN.

My email was a Disney Destinations one. My family name was in the subject line "____ Family, Your Disney Dream is Here"

I got my first PIN today. Same as the one the OP got. I called right away and was told the spiel that disney sometimes sends the emails out before putting the info in their system. She told me to call back in 24-48 hours.

Should I call back again and give the PIN without the "0" in the front? I don't want everything to be sold out. She said she couldn't even tell me the availability of anything since she had no clue what the offer was that was connected to my PIN. I'm hoping that they don't have a note in my file saying that I just called and was told to call back another day.

I would call back and try another cm, also mention that you know someone who got a similar PIN code and that the cm was able to input it by dropping the first "0".

Oddly, my reservation doesn't reference a PIN number is has code ZOX on it.

Aimko - So you already had a reservation when you got your PIN? Or did you make a reservation using the PIN email and then got a confirmation with the letter code on it instead of the PIN? I'm asking because when the CM couldn't find any reference to my PIN offer in whatever mysterious info they have on me in their system, (I felt like I was talking to the Feds because I have not been to Disney since 2000, yet she had my maiden name, old address, phone number, and travel info in her system. ) she asked me if there was a 3-letter code near the bottom of my email. There isn't. I searched the whole email while rattling off the sections to her and even asked what this code was supposed to look like or where it might be. I got the feeling that she thought I was trying to use someone else's code (a used one) since she couldn't find "mine" in her system.

Oh, and she had NO RECORD of my married last name - under any first name. I told her that I just got the email this morning that was addressed to "MarriedLastName Family" and delivered to an email address that I didn't even have until 2001 or 2002. Heck, THEY sent me the stupid email. You would think they would have a record of that.

I did not have a reservation. I got the email with the PIN. I called in to see what was available. The CM initially couldn't get the PIN to be recognized. He played around for a bit and said "oh, it looks like who ever put these PINS into the system did it without the first "0". Its a 15 # PIN that I got. In the system it is apparently in as a 14 # PIN that doesn't start with a zero.

After I got my reservation confirmation email I noticed that instead of a PIN reference, it had a 3 letter code instead...that's why I mentioned the code in my last post.

Hope that clears it up!
