Pins & Ebay

Here are my questions...

1. Am I allowed to ask the seller for the pin number? And should the seller be happy to give me that info?

I just don't want to buy a replica pin. I want to get the pin number of the pin and then compare in pinpics.com.

2. Or better yet, how can I really know the pin being sold on Ebay is a real Disney pin?

There are some pins that I want that sometimes show up on Ebay and I step back and let it go because I don't want to waste my money on a fake. I buy from the themeparks themselves, DTD and disneyshopping.com.

Okay, this is only my opinion. When I am selling pins (which I'm not at the moment), I have no idea what the "number" is. Isn't that strictly a PinPics thing, and not a Disney thing? I've only looked at the PinPics site a few times, when somebody mentioned a specific pin.

You could go to the PinPics site and type in a vague description, then see what the search brought up.

I have to agree that as a seller of pins Iwould be highly annoyed if someone wanted pinpics nuumbers of all the pins in my auctions, i dont have ttime to look for a lot of pins for myself, neverthe less look for pin numbers for someonelse. you can usually go to pinpics and enter a descrioption of the pin and get the one you want. I wouldnt mind if you asked, hey what does it say ont he back, or is it le ??? , of ocurse that would probably be listed, but yeah, i cant imagine you are going to get a favorable response asking for numbers, also thats the risk you take on ebay, whether its real or not, i guess most are real and if its a pin i want bad enough i prob bid on it and take a chance, most that i have seen on the boards as fake youd never be able to tell so yes it is really hard!
