Pins at airport security??

I was speaking to my sister this evening. I showed her the pins my sons and I collected. My one carry-on bag has my pins on the shoulder strap.

She asked me what I would do with my pins when we go through airport security metal detectors. I never thought of it.

I was planning to keep my extra pins in my carryon luggage.

Will this be a problem? It's just something I never thought of before. I was planning to take this same bag with attached pins on another trip we have planned for July, so I thought I'd ask.

Ive never had a prob with my pins through security at LAX, SNA, SLC or MCO- I kept them in a seperate bag and easy to access as I did have to show them to the screeners- once they saw them there was no issues-

Personally I wouldnt have any on the outside incase they fell off or got stuck in the machine-

I've never heard of anyone having any problems with carrying their pins in their carry-on. We've done so on several occasions. Just make sure that it's easy for TSA to search through.
