Ok I'm usually OK at math...
We are a family of 4 (one child under 2) and one Jr aged 12.

We got a pin code last night for Free Dining with 5 nights/6 day stay (non discounted) Mind you we've had several pins delivered to us over the past few months...including 30% off (value), 35% off (moderate) and we are also aware of the $300 GC deal going right now (for value) - Nothing seems to really make sense to us. We were waiting to see what a free dining pin would get us (lo and behold we finally got one!) Yes I am happy... but...now I need help making sense of the math...

I went online and figured up for the room only rate Pop Century Preferred for 5 nights and it came to $436 (week night only no weekends). Added in $738.06 for 6 day Base tickets and then $503.88 for dining. This all came to $1683.87 (with dining) or $1179.99 with no dining (Regular Rate online). What are the chances that I call and get the $1179.99 cost WITH FREE DINING AND THE PIN CODE USAGE? That just seems low to me...it would by far be the best deal we have had in 3 yrs of visiting Disney.

Now with our Free Dining pin offer it says we'll save $529 on a value resort stay. That just doesnt add up correctly. When I figured it we're actually saving less with the pin. Is that including the current 30% off that's given already to regular packages?

Also, if we just purchase a Regular rate room in August/September with our tickets and the regular online free dining offer comes out (no pin) will we be able to get it without putting another penny down on our package? Or is it better for us to go with the free dining pin. You know what they say... those who wait are usually rewarded in the end.

Now I have yet to call a CM to ask what the pin will get us...Im actually kind of afraid to. I am really in the mode of thinking that NO PIN = A FANTASTIC DEAL. The regular rates online while adding in slowly seems to get you further (better deals) than any deal I have yet to see. Even last yr we went to Disney with the 4/3 deal plus gift card plus airfare $2400.00. We thought that was good! Was it really? (we fly from Maine and get our flight tix not through Disney) Disney often compensates for what's lost to make it look good is what it seems like. Does anyone seem to agree with this statement or am I wrong?

The $529 savings on the card is usually for 2 adults, 1 junior, and 1 child. The price difference you got was the cost of the 1 child.

You should get the $1180 offer if you call in and use your pin. You can also see about the cost to upgrade to the DDP from the QSDP. It should be about $30/night for your family (or an extra $150 for 5 nights).

I figured out the difference...

The cost is really 1280.01 for 5N/6D with the Free Dining Pin. I forgot to add in the the 5th night! :rotfl:

I did another figure for the Spring Deal (the 30% or 35% off ) What an INCREDIBLE difference to go in the fall than it is to go in the SPRING. A lot cheaper with the free dining deal in the fall... :surfweb:

Now if I call the CM I should be prepared...
Although with my deafness I amthinking of emailing instead... here goes nothing!! wish me luck... :wizard:

I never thought of emailing! I am looking at similar dates but I need a better pin. I'm still hoping. I have a 20/25/35 for the summer, but I want to go during the fall. I was looking at Pop and it looks super affordable :cool1: Free dinning would make my life, so keep us posted popcorn::

I have a few questions if you don't mind. :)

1) What "type" of dinning would a pin include?
2) Do you have to buy tix?
3) What are the dates?

I am wanting to go again in Dec.! We are going in Apr.!!!! I was going to do BB but the pin sounds better? We would not need tix. as we are going in Apr.

Congrats!!! On the pin.

Thanks in advance!!!:goodvibes

Typically to add the dining plan you have to buy tickets. Many are saying it is the QSDP for the values, and the DDP for mods & deluxe resorts. Right now, dates are being posted for mid August until early October.

To have the dining option, you must purchase a package.
To be considered a package, you must purchase at least a 1 day ticket for everyone in your party.

For those that already have tickets, you can purchase a 1 day ticket, BUT not use it. Save this ticket for future trips, at that time, upgrade the ticket to meet your needs.
