is pin trading still going on with Covid? Dont want to bother buying pins if its not happening.

Yes, it's still happening although somewhat more limited than in the past. There are pin boards at some locations but I don't believe CM's are wearing pin lanyards at this time.

There are pin trading locations at all the parks and some resorts. All the pins are on a board. You can trade up to 2 pins. You pick out what pins you want (they are numbered). The cast member will give you the pins. You then put your pins in a box to be sanitized, keeping your pin backs.

We looked at a number of pinboards in December, but there was not much interesting as so few people are trading now.

well my first thought especially with the boards is that everyone picks the good stuff and without the cast members doing pins, is it really going to be worth it. I had pins here, if I have htem I'll bring them, just didn't really want to have to buy more if it isn't going to be decent. I'm also really not looking forward to walking around with two lanyards full of pins on my neck as the kids of course will be uncomfortable. LOL

I did a little pin trading during my trip last week, but the options are limited since there are only a couple pin boards per park. But it wouldn't hurt to have a few trading pins in your bag just in case you see something interesting!

We brought 5 or 6 pins out with us each day to trade. We still had fun

There are some cute new cast member pins. We were told they go quickly, but if you stop by a board in the morning you might get lucky. We were there for my sons birthday and a very nice CM had an extra and allowed him to trade for it. She said AK tends to get the best pick of the new pins. Not sure why but my son was happy.
