Pin Trading is Evil

Okay it's not really evil but it's gonna feel that way when I get my credit card statement. But I'll have a nice complete set of monrail pins to cheer me up. I'm headed back down in 2 weeks for a quick off site family reunion trip. I'm flying, I normally drive. Can I take my pins through security in my carry on luggage or will I need to check luggage with them in it. I know the TSA is just trying to keep everyone safe but I'm not sure how I could cause much damage with a bunch of pins and 2 ounces of hairspray.

I always pack my pins in my carry-on luggage, even as recently as 4 weeks ago, and I have never had a problem with TSA. You'll be just fine!

ETA: I agree, pin trading does seem evil when that credit card statement comes in! But it is just soooo addicting! I love it!

I normally just take them in their own bag, and make sure that I get to the airport in plenty of time (normally 2 hours before my flight) and just deal with security, the only time I've had problems was on my trip to DL, the San Diego Airport and the Pittsburgh Airport BOTH pulled me aside, opened my pin bag, and did the swab test, but then cleared me 2 minutes later. We almost missed out flight in San Diego, but that's because my other half woke up late, and we didn't get to the airport until 45 minutes before our flight, so security was REALLY weary of us. But there wasn't any other problems before that, and I've had them on plenty of trips.

I check my pins every time without issue. I usually carry my small pin pag on though and the only airport where I got grief was CDG (Paris). When the latest sets of Disneystore pins came out I visited about 10 disney stores in 3 states. I got some really good deals but then when my credit card bill came I almost passed out. Pin trading is not for the faint of heart.
