Forgot there were some coming out today/tomorrow, but thats because the next ones I want are released on the 8th/9th of may.

I got my Wall-E! The bf picked him up for me and apparently there were a few CMs in the Liverpool store with lanyards on :) I hardly ever go into town but I may need to make a special trip..!

Glad you managed to get your Wall-e pin Lizzy!

I'm not on for any this week, the ones I want next are the 9th May. But I do know what you mean about when they're out next, it is strangely exciting! :rotfl:

Got a couple more on ebay over this week, which I love. And I've nearly got a frame full now, which I'll pop a picture on once I've fixed it all back together :)

I think I need to step away from this thread :goodvibes I have always looked at pins and thought they were nice but had never bought any until I started reading this, over the space of the last 3 days I have managed to buy 10 from ebay :scared1: they are all coming from separate people so I hope they are genuine but I'm so excited ... I just feel the need to buy more so I can start trading :rotfl:

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

I know the feeling - I think I've got myself obsessed with them! I enjoyed trading in WDW last year, but didn't think much more about it. Then once Disney Store UK started on their pins, I've not been able to stop myself! :scared1: It's very addictive! And then I went and searched Ebay................wrong decision! :rotfl2:

I'm sure the ones you've ordered off ebay will be fine, esp. as you've bought individual ones from sellers. As long as the sellers had a good rep, then I'm pretty sure they'll be genuine pins! :thumbsup2

I bought 3 pins off ebay today too!! I'm going to go to the Milton Keynes store on the 9th to get some of the new pins that are out that day and to see if the CM's have lanyards for trade. I'm getting obsessed with this too. I have 50 pins ready to trade at WDW in the summer and 12 LE pins to trade too! Oh and a list of pins I want to get when I am there. I decided it might be a good idea to make a list of all the pins I have already got to take with me too. So I coppied and pasted the pics of all the pins I have got in pinpics onto a word doc and I will send that to my iphone before we go just to make sure I don't end up buying pins I already have got!!

Does anyone know if the pin trading rules for Disney Stores is different to the rules in place in the parks?

I didn't think the rules were different but had a bit of a 'disagreement' in my local store today.

DW and I went in to buy one of the new LE pins and took a few traders with us. We made our purchase, no problem then asked a CM if we could trade from his lanyard. DW picked a Pluto pin that she wanted. CM said that he'd need to make sure that it wasn't a LE pin as if it was we'd have to trade a pin with him that was worth at least £5! This didn't seem right but wasn't an issue anyway as it wasn't a LE pin.

I also chose a Donald pin that was a Disney Store cast lanyard exclusive pin. He was happy to trade that too.

The CM then said that his colleague had another lanyard that we should take a look at. However, at this point his manager butts in and says that we cant make any more trades today! When I asked why she said that there was a limit of two pins trades per day. I told her that I thought she had got this wrong as it was my understanding that it was two pins per CM, Per Guest per day and as we were TWO guests and had only made TWO pin trades with ONE CM we should still be entitled to make trades with the other CM.

At this point the Manager got a little nasty about it so we just walked out of the shop.

So what do you guys all think, are the rules really different or have they got it wrong? I know it's a fairly new thing over here but I'd expect better from Disney!

Well as far as I know, in store you can trade any pin as long as it says (C) Disney on the back, for any of their pins as long as they don't already have the one that you are trading, and according to the Harrow store, you can trade up to 3 pins per day/per CM (I managed to trade 5 in there in one day as the manager who I was trading with originally let me trade 3, then passed the lanyard to another CM, which I then traded with). Next time you're in the shop, try and have a look at the leaflets they have, that could set them straight. Also, the CM you traded seems to have the mentality of the pin traders that hang out outside the pin trading stall at Downtown Disney @ WDW...

EDIT: Just out of interest, what store was this?

And adding, since my nearest DS is about 30 minutes away, I managed to quench my thirst for trading over easter, and shall either have to continue to buy pins online, or pay to get the train to southampton to buy them...

My daughter and I traded in Cambridge today - the CMs were really nice and quite pleased to see us I think!

My daughter traded 3 pins and I traded 4 with no problem at all :cool1:

Well the published rules state that it's two pin trades per CM, per guest, per day.

I think it also worrying that the CM's in this store are also putting some kind of 'value' on the pins on their lanyard stating that we had to offer a pin with a £5 value for a limited edition pin. Again, the published rules say that a CM cannot refuse a valid pin trade with a guest.

I've made a complaint to Disney UK.

I've traded in the London stores without any problem.

@ wdw_adict - You should just take one of the Pin Trading leaflets and make them read it in front of you. If they did, they would see that in the rules it says that you're allowed 2 trades per CM per day, and that they HAVE to trade any pin off their lanyard as long as the pin being offered has the Disney trademark.

Now that I'm back from DLRP, I might pop into town to see if there's any pins worth trading for. :)

Haha! Would have been funny to see their faces if you'd done that!

Also, how was DLRP, get any good'ens?

I went back into the Manchester store yesterday and managed to trade two more pins :) I got a Disney UK Squirt pin, which is adorable! And a Dale pirate pin which matches the Chip one we already have :goodvibes

My understanding also is that it is, two pins, per CM, per day. In the Manchester store I was offered a trade with either of the CM's, as there was two lanyards doing the rounds.

Sounds like the CM's in that particular store need to read the rules before going off on one to guests! :rolleyes1

You guys won't believe this, but I had the exact same problem as wdw_adict today at the Oldham store! They've only just started pin trading. Ok, so here's what happened.

Me and my mum asked to see their lanyard. The CM went into the back for about 8 minutes before returning with a lanyard that was full of some really great pins. I asked to trade for a Pluto Easter pin and a Master Gracey pin, both of which turned out to be Limited Edition. When the CM spotted this, she said that the pins I was trading had to be Limited Edition as well. I politely explained to her that that wasn't the case, and so she went off again to speak with her manager.

When she came back (another 5-8 mins later), she apologised and said it was fine, so I then passed her my two pins... and then there was another problem. She said that the pins had to have the Disney Store logo. At that point, I picked up a Pin Trading leaflet and pointed out that she was mistaken yet again. At that point she admitted that she hadn't been told ANYTHING about Pin Trading before today and was just going off what she thought sounded right.

:( It was all very awkward. Hopefully by the time I go in the Oldham store again, the CMs will have been taught more about Pin Trading. It was worth it though, as I really like this Master Gracey pin.

:) Pin Trading at DLRP was brilliant. I'll be sure to post pics tomorrow of everything that I traded for.

lol thanks for explaning what 'LE' meant.. Limited Edition, that was soo easy.. sorry, I had a blonde moment & couldn't work it out!

I am soo close to starting trading now, maybe if I buy a few in the DS here and then start trading in July in wdw.. ;)

When the CM spotted this, she said that the pins I was trading had to be Limited Edition as well.

Now I actually thought that was the rule, as it is at DLP! On the pin boards they have the limited pins separated and you have to trade limited ones for them - it hasn't been relevant here yet though as I haven't traded for a limited pin in the Disney Store yet.

I bet some CMs just make it up as they go along.. My sister was refused a trade at DLP one year, this was in our early days of pin trading as we weren't aware that this wasn't allowed. Hopefully as more people trade more of the Disney Store CMs will become 'au fait' with the rules :)

@Masamune: that Master Gracie pin is awesome - great find!

I realise that pin trading is new here but I would have expected more from Disney CM's - especially as there is a pin trading leaflet available in-store!

matt

Wow that master Gracey pin certainly is a good find indeed! I was going to try and keep out of the Disney Store for a least a week but now I think I'm going to struggle!
