...and now I think I will be spoiled foreverprincess:

The "cheapest" fares that meet my needs* from GRR-MCO are around $330-$350 one-way. This includes Delta, American, United and Southwest. None of these are non-stop options and none of them are on our preferred day of travel (Sunday morning). All of them require us to leave on Saturday which means we are also limited to evening flights due to our work schedule.
(*My "needs" include a seat that is on an aisle in front of the wings, a carry on bag and a checked bag....that's it, nothing extravagant)

When I saw that Delta had a flight that departs around 6pm with a Comfort+ fare of $299 (+$35 for the checked bag), I was ready to book it....and then I saw the first class fare....$354!! WHAT?!! Only $20 to upgrade to a first-class seat? Yes, please! This claustrophobic girl is now elated to sit in an extra-wide seat in a 2-person row:goodvibes. Plus now I get 2 checked bags and booze on an evening flight! Bonus...I have Capital One Venture rewards that I can redeem too which will bring the cost down even further:thumbsup2 Double Bonus...my friend has Hilton points which completely paid for the night at the Orlando DoubleTree so there is no added cost for arriving on Saturday night instead of Sunday morning:flower3:.

Now, the only downside is that CRJ flight from GRR-DTW:eek:...but at least it is only about 45 minutes in the air.

At least it's a CR7 or CR9 rather than a CR2 that they used to fly on that route. And you should get both an aisle and a window seat on that flight. You'll also get a meal in F DTW-MCO.

Yeah...I've gotten bad on this with international flights..I told my husband it's his fault :p. In our case it's business class and lay flat seats (so far have done Iberia, Virgin Atlantic and ZipAir in business and will be doing Delta in Delta One in a few months).

Domestically we've not done higher categories but at the price you got that seems like a no brainer :goodvibes

Enjoy! I agree that now you'll be spoiled. My son was in Japan recently and was flying United from Tokyo to Newark. Long story, but he had the opportunity to upgrade his highly discounted coach seat to Polaris Business Class for $258. Since it was such a long flight, he took that deal without batting an eye. Then a week later when he had to fly from EWR back to California where he lives, he didn't think he could tolerate a standard coach seat so upgraded to first class. That was 3 months ago. He flew coach from CA to FL this past week and said he felt like he was in a straight jacket. :D
