During our last trip to WDW (late September, early October) we had a chance to tour the Animal Kingdom Lodge. While there (and wearing all of our lanyards, naturally) a woman and her companion stopped Vince and Tony to look at their pins. As I was trailing behind enjoying the scenery, I had a chance to hear her comments to her companion as Tony and Vince continued on. She said "It's pin trading. It's kind of like a sport. Two people come together, look at each others pins and size each other up. Then, if they decide that they want to trade, they start to haggle." I couldn't help but laugh out loud!! Who KNEW this was considered a SPORT!?!

Guess we're all in training for the 2004 Olympics!

Maybe he was one of those couch potatoes who watches every sports channel. She was just explaining it in language he could understand. She did a pretty good job too. :D

Matthew and I joked around once about the DIS Collector's Board getting a softball team together and challenging other pin websites to games. Maybe we could make this into a sport ;)

Hmm.. what would be a good name for our team..

This is more than a sport. This is a sickness that we feed. Other pin traders help us along and fuel the sickness. Gee I love pin trading! But it is a way to talk to people that we would otherwise walk past. It brings people together. Do you suppose that is what The Disney Company had in mind? DUH!
