Have you ever added up the $ amount spent on your pins :scared1:

Thought I would for the fun of it. I have 3 kids with about 120 pins each. Each have a few lanyard and a pin book. I cannot believe how much $ potential is there.

Now we have been very lucky in buying traders. First the Disney store sale- Spent about $130 for 100 pins- Excellent. Then a local dollar store had boxes of the Pooh Friendship pin so we bought 100- another $100(and I'm talking Canadian funds :cool1: ). A few pin lots from e-bay and some retail price at Disney. All in all I would say we might have spent about $500 and have about $3000 worth. Really glad I didn't have to pay retail for all of it :earseek:

Two words- No comment...

I have 400+ pins most bought between 6 and 20 bucks- But spread that over 5 years.. much more reasonable ;)

Let's see. My listing on PinPics shows owning over 3,800 unique pins. I know that some of the items listed are complete framed sets. I think my total of pins at home, including duplicates and counting individuals in framed sets, is somewhere on the order of 15,000. Almost all of these were purchased; even with an average of $10 you can do the math.

Maybe it is good that I hadn't been to pinpics in awhile & my totals disappeared :)!

When we first started only DD was buying a few. Now all 3 kids are into it and loving it so now we actually have pin money budgeted for our trips. :flower:

I love every penny we have spent on these.

Cheshire- 15000- holy cow- I would love to see your collection.

Same here. Only 2 kids though. Not sure who has the most pins, but I think DD (13) has the most. It is a bit out of control. But I can't wait for the 2005 Pin Celebration! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

This is really a scary thread. :sad2:

I have either traded, sold or gave away a good number of my pins in the past year. The ones that I have given to some of the young children at DTD has been the best. The look on their faces are wonderful and talking to them is even better. I just wish they would stay young and innocent.

I still have about 10 thousand left. They are on 4x5 cork boards hanging on a wall in one of my den rooms. We can look at them all the time. Have about 25 books left and those I don't see every day.

Right on krdisneybound - the look on a child's face when you give (or trade) them a pin is priceless. We belong to a local trading club and I love it when new, young children come in with their parents.

Of course, my own two are mercenaries, and I am VERY CAREFUL on what I trade for with them :)
