i have a question i have kinda been reading about the pins here.
exactly what do you do ? do you wear your pins around the disney parks, and people come up to you, or you go up to people and ask to trade pins ? are these pins you buy at disney parks or where ?

thanks so much

"exactly what do you do ?" We collect pins. We trade pins because you can't be everywhere all at once. There are pins that are only sold at WDW, DCL, DLR, DLRP, TDL, HKDL, Disney Stores, Disney Auctions, Disney Soda Fountain, etc. There are a handfull of non-Disney sources of Disney pins.

do you wear your pins around the disney parks, and people come up to you, or you go up to people and ask to trade pins ? Yes, or we go to pin events or pin trading nights, or pin meets to look at other peoples pins and trade pins.

ok, so i just bought some off of ebay that said they were from disney cast members... so i can just wear them at disney world and then i can trade with cast members and other people ?

do people just walk up to you and ask ?

This site will help you. It answers a lot of questions.

Official Disney Pin Trading Page

Most cast members will trade with any quests providing they do not have the pin to be traded already on their lanyard. Some cast members wear green or teal lanyards and their pins can only be traded with children.

Cast members are required to trade with guests. Guests on the other hand do not have to trade with any other guests. Try to get to Scoop's Pin Talk in the Exibition Hall in the Magic Kingdom at 1PM. Check there for specific days and times.

Have a wonderful time and have fun pin trading.

Yes.....but I wouldn't. If they are truly CM pins (can only be bought by CMs at the Company D store) you have some harder to find pins and may not want to put them on a CM lanyard. Same with Lanyard pins, (they can't be bought you can only get them when you trade with a CM.)

Yes, even people that don't collect or trade start a conversation about the hobby...in line for a ride, on the monorail, everywhere. That's the best part about this hobby, talking to people who normally wouldn't stop and talk to you and developing friends around the world.

We have just started Pin Trading, and my DD has a great time. I love the conversations she has with the CMs. They are always so willing to chat with her!

We don't do it so much to trade to get rare or limited pins, we just do it for the fun of coming home with new pins each time we visit without spending money!!!

We have many pins at home that we don't use for trading - those special day, special event or limited pins, and we display those on a bulletin board.

How do you do that? I come on property and Disney hooks up a vacuum directly to my wallet and sucks all the money out.

I don't even need to leave my house for that to happen. I just connect to the web and money disappears. That said I got some really good buys on the semi annual pin sale.

Pincastle, Advertising is against the Dis guidelines, and your prices are astronomical! There is no way I would ever purchase pins at those prices!!!!!!!!!!!! I've reported both the spamming of the board, as well as the spam PM sent to me to the mods
