I finally got a pin. It was sent through the mail. Only problem is it's in my brother's name. Is there any way I can take advantage of this.

The only time he went to Disney was about 3 years ago. We put his name on a room only reservation as we had a meal and ticket plan. We gave his address as ours since we wanted all the info for our trip coming here.

I know this is probably futal, but is there any way we can use the pin sent?

Thanks for your help:)

Based on things that have been posted here...many times they will not let you use the PIN unless the person who's name it comes under is traveling with you...but I have also read instances that they allow it based on the address. I think the only way to know for sure is to call...and if the first person you talk to says no, it might be worth it to call again. Good luck and let us know how you make out! :)

Call and ask. Last year a pin came to my house but it was in the ex-husband's name. He hasn't lived here in over 15 years. I called and ask Disney if I could use the pin and they allowed me. Good luck!

As long as you are listed in the household in Disney's computer system you'll be able to use the pin code.

See, this is why Disney needs the addresses of everyone that is traveling.
:)

I got a PIN via email a few years ago...sent to MY email address but in my sister's name. I've gone to WDW every year since 2004 and my sister went ONLY in 2004 and hasn't yet been back.

I called to book (at first I wasn't even aware it was in my sister's name...I found out when I called) and the first CM I spoke to said I couldn't use it because it wasn't in my name.

I called back later and spoke to a supervisor and told them it's not my fault that their system lumps everyone with the same last name and address onto one email account. They sent the email to me and I should be able to use it since obviously I'm the one that visits frequently and my sister doesn't. She let me use it after I pleaded my case!

thanks for your responses. I have to get my nerve up before I call so I'll be prepared for a fight.;) I guess when I do call I should be ready to book as well.

Im nervous. wish me luck! :thumbsup2

I would call and say you got a PIN and want to make a reservation. The less information you provide, the better the chances of going thru.

Not necessarily....When I got my email, I called and said "I got a PIN Code and want to book" When I gave her the PIN, she asked for my name and when I told her "Alison" she said "oh well this PIN is for "Stephanie." She refused to let me book with the PIN so that's why I asked for a supervisor.

We called around February or March of last year to check and see if we had any pins. There was the free dining pin but it was in my Dad or brother's name (they are both a David LOL) but had our address. We had a trip booked for that May so we asked if we could apply it. The CM said yes because when she looked it up on her computer, the address was ours even though the name wasn't.

So then we asked if it could be applied to my parents trip (they were also going and we were actually surprising them by going as well) but the CM couldn't do that since the address wasn't theirs. It didn't seem to matter whose name was attached to the pin.

Just a few months ago, we again received a pin but through the mail. It was sent tour address but still had my Dad's name on it. LOL It was just the same as the Free Dining promo already announced and my parents also got the same postcard at their house.

We were lucky enough to receive two of the 35%/40% PIN codes. One came through the mail, but is in my 5 yr old son's name. The other was via email, in my husband's name, but under our old address. Will I have a problem booking with these?

I would assume they would let you use one or the other. Techincally, they shouldn't be soliciting a minor child but some people have said that they only care about the address, not the name. Either way, you should be able to use one.

Thanks! They did let me use it, and actually sent me the confirmation in my son's name. Hope he takes us along! :rotfl:
