Pin code for gift card prior to arrival

Has anyone gotten an email pincode for a gift card that you can buy prior to arrival? We arrive in Orlando on 12/6, and I got an email with different pin codes to buy a $500 gift card for $395, or a $600 gift card for $440, and so on.

We have the 4/3 package, so I didn't know if a lot of people were getting this, or if this was related to our package deal?

I got it too for our upcoming trip. I had already used a 40% off pin to book the vacation.

is this from Disney Destinations ? That's a pretty good deal....do tell what the email says....I'm assuming you have to buy it before you go?

I don't think that we are because I actually found another thread where the poster stated that the gift card can't be used on food and only select WDW merchandise stores. I was hoping it could be used for food, especially for meals that we wanted to pay OOP. Oh well.

yeah, that's kind of alot for just using it only on souveniers. they kind of lock you in....but I guess that's the point ! I think I'd pass too.

This year is the first year they offered this and I think it was available mid summer. Since its new (and attempt to boost thier hurting souvenier sales) can't really tell if its gonna be an all the time thing or not. I know it was offered mid summer but stopped sometime in late July/early August and has just now popped back up.

I actually got this offer last year as well. It worked out great. I was a little hesitant because I didn't know what it was good for, but we used it for stroller rental, the picture at Chef Mickey's, the stores at DTD, refillable mugs, etc. Basically any place on WDW property seemed to take it(we did not try to buy food with it though). I'm guessing it was new last year because most CMs looked at it like they had never seen it before.

I just got the offer again yesterday too and will probably be purchasing one again. The email has a lot of restrictions on it(I didn't notice these last year), so I hope it hasn't changed from last year.

We got the gift card pin too it does have alot of rules but there is no expiration on it so if you plan on going again its worth it to me.

This is a separate offer from your room if that's what you're asking. I have free dining and got this offer as well. You have to buy the card before you check in and they have it there waiting for you.

Can some one tell me where you call to purchase, I am wondering if I call Central Reservations if they could tell me if I have a pin code for a gift card?

Hi,
I got this card in Aug. this year and it worked out great for us. It is a card that says Merchendise credit. We called before we went down there and it was waiting for us with our check in docs. at the hotel. We got the 600 one and used it all. We had custom made t-shirts at DTD and got some christmas presents. For us it was well worth it. It came out to be like a 28% discount on things. Hope it helps
