This is just a what if scenario... and I know the Disney "policy" but what would or has really happened?

here is what I am asking, if the pin holder (we will call her N) N makes a reservation for Dec 2008 for herself and her family, she also makes 2 other rooms for family members so they all get the great rate of 40% off the rooms. What if in October N finds out she can't go (something comes up, can't get the flights, etc) and she cancels her room, would the other 2 rooms (of which N is not staying in) still keep the code-- or what is the likelyhood that they wouldn't take the PIN code back?? Disney says yes, but I am jsut wondering would that REALLY happen?? I mean trust me N wants to go--- and will be, but just in case (I always think of every situation) how would that affect the others who will be going????????

In order for N to book the rooms, they all have to be booked and "paid for" by her... (PAID FOR part is at least in theory.. as far Disney is concerned she paid for them regardless of who ACTUALLY paid)

Cancellation of the first room (and therefore of the primary reservation holder) would negate the discounts and cancel the reservations of her associated rooms.

That's my understanding.

Sorry..

I dont relly get what your trying to say but here it goes....i used my 40% off at akl...then dh best friend and wife wanted to go also but for a few days shorter than us.....they said fine he made his own resi with there name and address then applied my 40% code to there room...no problem....if they cancel its on them not on us......

Different situation but last year when I used a code I booked it in my name. I was traveling with family and we needed two rooms. I ended up using DVC for my room so I canceled one of the discount rooms. I called later (during the summer) and asked if I could change the names on the room so my mom and sister could be in the discounted room and I could be listed on my DVC room. It was no problem, they changed the names and kept the rate. The deposit was paid on my credit card but my mom paid the balance with hers upon arrival.

hmmm... well I am not really sure if I found an answer in there, I guess there is no sure thing until it would happen, and hopefully there will be no reason for me to cancel my room, thus living the others to pay full price. it is so hard to plan so far in advance... we have never missed a year, so I would doubt we would this year either!
