Pin and club level?

I was so happy to book my Poly honeymoon a few weeks ago! After deciding not to do the DDDP, I thought we would try to upgrade to the club level. I just called though, and the cm told me that the pins can't be used for club/concierge level. Is that always the case when you book with a pin?

I don't think using a pin code itself will keep you from getting club level, but the availability of the discount on the club level room you wanted might have been used up. I just got a discount pin 2 days ago and immediately started trying to book a stay at the Grand Floridian in standard club level. It took me over half an hour working with the CM to find a series of 4 nights during the discount period where the room we wanted was available.
So my guess is that since your dates probably aren't too flexible, there just wasn't any availability with your pin for the room you wanted during the dates you wanted.

We have a 40% off pin code and booked AKL club level and was also offered BW and Poly club level with that code. Maybe club level is just booked up?

I received a 40% pin code and the only thing available at the Poly was club level. It ended up costing a few dollars less than what we had planned on spending on a regular room. So, that's what we booked and I can't wait! Maybe if you call back there will be something that opened up?
