Anyone do winsor pilates? How about any other titles?

I am working on building up to doing my 3 mile WATP dvd and when I get that up to 5-7 days a week I am thinking of adding pilates a few times a week to tone up some spots. I'm researching which dvd might be best.

At Target I have seen the Pilates for Dummies. I've thought about buying it for myself. I should be easy to follow and good way to begin a new program without pushing yourself too hard. It is always best to start slow and carefully and work up to the harder programs. If you start too hard and complicated early you get discouraged and don't stick with it.
Just some thoughts. I also will be starting a beginning pilates program soon( when the weather turns nasty.) Please post your research and decisions . We all need to know of about all the programs that are good for us. Good luck!!!

I like the Method Pilates tapes/dvds with Jennifer Kries. She's an excellent instructor and also takes time in between exercises for stretches and breathing.

I've been using them for a few months now and am totally hooked!

Our weather won't get too bad here in Arizona. It will be nice actually. But I still don't like to exercise outside.

And yeah I need something beginner level. I'm not fit enough for advanced thats for sure. :)

I love my Winsor Pilates! It was difficult at first, but there is a modified version that someone does on the cd so you can do that until you progress to the regular method. I like that because it gives that option. It took a while for me to build up to the "regular' routine, and really I still am not like they are, but I see that I am getting better.

Good luck in your search.

I do the Winsor Pilates and love it. I noticed differences in my body in the first week.

Not Winsor Pilates but I take a weekly pilates class at the local recreation center. This thursday is our first class this session. I took the summer off...bad idea...but while I was doing the class last spring, I noticed that I felt much better and was much more toned.

I'm combining that class with a physioball class and a kickboxing class and trying to to 1-2 other workouts on my own each week.

The pilates was hard at first but once you get used to using certain muscles more often, it's not so bad.

Thanks for the replies. I think I'll watch ebay for a copy I'll even take used lol. I want to get my Walk Away the Pounds going though first. DH and I have done it last two days. Yippy!! I wanna make that 1000 minutes for October. We even did some ab and leg work. Tomorrow we are doing arm toning weight lifting. :)

I second the Method pilates ( also at Target)

I loved it !! Only have done it a few times but was really surprised to see so much ballet....that brought me back to "my roots" !!

Enjoy!
