We will be traveling with a 9 year old, 7 year old and a 4 month old. We wont be doing the theme park. We will stay at a hotel with a waterslide and lazy river so, just looking for evening entertainment. What do you think we should do?

my daughter really enjoyed gem mining at the three bears gift shop. you buy a bucket of dirt, and sift it for gems. she found a 1 carat sapphire and a 2 carat emerald! (also several tiny rubies, garnets and amethyst.)

We also have always loved the gem mining! It is really easy to find gems. Not like panning for gold or looking for diamonds in fields of dirt.

Have you considered a dinner show. We are planning to do the Dixie Stampede next time we go. Pricy but fun.

Dixie Stampede is really fun. The Ripley's Aquarium in Gatlinberg is awesome. There are countless go-cart and mini-golf places. Some of the nicer mini-golf places are Ripley's. Great family restaurants: Park Grille (nice, but you can take kids), Huck Finn's (fried catfish and chicken, lots of sides, casual, fun atomosphere), Pancake Pantry in Gatlinberg.

I'm going to suggest the Dixie Stampede. :thumbsup2

DH complains about the price but I remind him that's it's a meal
  • A Mouth-Watering Tender Whole Rotisserie Chicken
  • Delicious Hickory Smoked Barbecued Pork Loin
  • Dixie Stampede's Original Creamy Vegetable Soup
  • Scrumptious Homemade Biscuit
  • Hot Buttered Corn on the Cob
  • Tasty Herb-basted Potato
  • Dixie's very own Specialty Dessert
  • Unlimited Pepsi®, tea or coffee

from which we've never left hungry, and always with at least one doggy bag, and a show.

If you go, especially in the summer, be sure and purchase your tickets early in the day. They seem to go fast.

We camp in the Smokies 2 - 3 times a year. We go into Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg one night each trip for entertainment. Lots of fun stuff to do!! Have a great trip!!

Just got back from PG. Stayed at a hotel with a lazy river too! :cool1: Ditto on the Dixie Stampede. It is expensive but very well done.

Do you think that your kids would enjoy a quick climb on an indoor rock climbing wall? In Gatlinburg, there is a store named NOC's Great Outpost. It is a really cool outdoors store and the kids can climb for a minimal cost. They also have a little rope bridge upstairs.

We just tried the TOMB attraction. It is new and just opened. Your older kids are at a good age. It is located at the Walden's Creek shopping center, red light 3. My daughter is 10 and it was perfect for her age. It is from the same owners as Magiquest.

Oh my goodness, how could I forget, MAGIQUEST! Magic wands, quests, my daughter LOVED it. We went back 3 times until we finished all the quests.
