Wow, what a great update! We tried to get into the Ditch in early Oct but every time I popped my head in there the line was crazy long and all the tables were taken...oh well there is always next time...please tell me you were able to get back there for more drinks!

It was like that everytime we looked in there too. The crab tostadas looked amazing. Next time I'm going there no matter what. :goodvibes

Great update Bendy! The Sweet on You looked very familiar to us, thanks again.;)

The Ditch - We fell in love with the place, can't wait to go back!:thumbsup2

Great to see another Jason and Brenda adventure!
I have to say, I'm a bit bothered by the whole ice cream in a soup bowl thing. I saw a picture of one on the food porn thread. Do all the proper dishes really have to take their bath at the same time.:confused3It's not like people ordering a sundae is an unusual occurence there.

They place in Mexico looks great! It's fairly new right? We love the Mexico pavilion because it is so refreshing on a hot Florida day. :thumbsup2

When life hands you a soup bowl, ask for a sundae glass instead.

Sorry about your CM induced OCD moment. You guys still look pretty happy eating it. Wish I had one right now.

Unfortunately the balcony furniture was suffering from a severe case of Florida black mold and who really wants to sit on their balcony and listen to the drone of passing traffic and inhale exhaust fumes while sipping chilled wine?

Mildew should be made the new Florida state flower.

Somehow, I missed the fact that you had started a report MONTHS ago...but I'm here now, just in time for food reviews, so it's all good.

Tasty so far!

Read the review last night and somehow forgot to post :confused3 I want those crab tostadas they look delish! The margaritas sound pretty good to :goodvibes

You're off to a great start! Sorry about the NWJ goblet issue but seems like you made the best of it. :lmao: at your views of night construction... how romantical.

Since you've been back I've been popping in and out on your TR (basically lurking) and kept reading about "the ditch" and trying to figure out what it was. Now I get it! I spent quite a bit of time in the ole ditch myself. I have to say I loved the jalapeno margarita! and the crab tostadas... yum o. Wish we were all there now!!

Can't wait for more! popcorn::

Great view of The Land pavilion and SE but not such a great view of the road construction! You'd think they could keep the patio furniture clean for their guests too. I loved the basket you sent to your DH! You always do such fun and thoughtful things for Jay on your trips:thumbsup2 The Ditch looked like a really great place to go for a drink in Epcot. The appetizer looked delicious too Brenda! Can't wait to hear about your night in the MK.:)

I am soooo looking forward to visiting The Ditch, but how will I ever choose just one Margarita??? :confused3:rotfl2:

Gotta try those crab thingies, too!

Denise

Ok, the Tequila bar is totally on my list!! You know that country song about tequila??? That is me. So DH will be deliriously happy to get me some tasty margaritas. And I will happily oblige :lmao:

Yeah for Ren & Stimpy!!!!!

Awesome, Brenda! I haven't seen enough about the Ditch yet. We will be trying to get in in a few weeks though ;) Do you think it will be odd for my two girls (12 and 10) to be in there while their Dad and I enjoy a margarita?

The crab tostadas were my favorite appetizer. We also tried the shrimp ceviche (cool presentations and very good), the guacamole (I liked it!), and the chicken tostadas (meh). Also, we did see plenty of people walking up to bar and ordering margaritas to go, so that's always an option if you don't have your heart set on hanging out there for a while.

Hiya Kat! Thanks for reading and I'm glad you liked the Sweet on You ... my secret is out now but like I said, Jay and I like to try to spread a little dust on our trips when we have a chance.

And the ditch ... is there anyone amongst us who didn't love it??? :rotfl2:
Jay said they need to expand it all the way over to San Angel and just get rid of the restaurant. :lmao:

Great to see another Jason and Brenda adventure!

Hiya friendie - good to see you here! You said the same thing that I did to Jay while we were at B&C. It's not like ordering dessert is an uncommon practice there ... I think I could have understood the issue better if we'd been there closer to the time when they close the place down.

When I hear that it's happening to more than one person at WDW then it tells me something else is going on. If it happens once it's a fluke - if it happens more than that then I fear someone wants to implement another cost cutting measure and I think it's charging the same price for Jose while drastically reducing the portion size.

The Ditch is awesome! Just opened at the end of August to rave reviews after years of Epcot teasing us with the idea that they were going to do it. It's cool and dark and pleasant in there - I think that during the summer it's likely to be packed for just the reason you stated.

Sorry about your CM induced OCD moment. You guys still look pretty happy eating it. Wish I had one right now.

Mildew should be made the new Florida state flower.

Oh yeah - the dessert was still pretty tasty but the presentation was disappointing. I'd be interested to know how frequently "may I serve you in a bowl" is happening to guests at B&C.

As for mildew ... isn't it already the state flower? ;)

Hiya Mom! It's ok that you missed the start ... it was just me and my silly rambling (you really didn't miss much). And you've been busy with your own stuff, ya know. Thanks for popping in ... things will get much taster, I promise!

Read the review last night and somehow forgot to post :confused3 I want those crab tostadas they look delish! The margaritas sound pretty good to.

Hi Chelle! Yum to both - so on your next visit be sure to pay Mexico a call! Thanks for reading. :goodvibes

Hi Christine! Thanks for taking a read ... I wish we were all at the Ditch right now, too! The jalapeno margarita was Jay's favorite ... he ordered that one a couple of times.

Hi Linda! Thanks for coming by to take a read. :goodvibes I'm sure Jay loves the gifties I send to the room (I just never tell him what they cost ... :lmao:) but I have to admit I do them just as much for myself as for him. The Ditch is awesome - if you get a chance on your next visit stop in and give them a try.

I am soooo looking forward to visiting The Ditch, but how will I ever choose just one Margarita??? :confused3:rotfl2:

Hi Denise! The answer to your dilemma is to visit the Ditch more than once per trip or block off a large chunk of time and wallow for an afternoon. Or do what we did and choose both options! :rotfl2:

Ok, the Tequila bar is totally on my list!! You know that country song about tequila??? That is me. So DH will be deliriously happy to get me some tasty margaritas. And I will happily oblige :lmao:

Yeah for Ren & Stimpy!!!!!

Hi there and thanks for reading! The tequila bar is a must stop for any margarita lover - they make some mean drinks there. Have a great time - it's a fun place!

There are some random Ditch updates floating around ... look for TDC Nala's review thread. She's got a lot of great info about the Ditch since the place first opened and she's tried a lot of things there. She's been taking one for the DISboards by visiting the Ditch on each of her F&W weekend visits this fall. ;)

Odd for your DDs to be there? Well, let's just say that some friends of ours have a picture of a man with a baby in a sling hanging off his chest while he was pulled up to bar at the Ditch. Now that's odd ... and maybe just plain wrong. :rotfl2:

Thanks for reading!

Aack! I'm so behind! I just found this!!! How did I manage to not know there was a new oybolshoi review going on?? In the words of Phineas - I know what I'm going to do today...

Hiya Sunny!!

You haven't really missed much ... the real reviews just got started and the other stuff is lots of rambling on my part to kill the time until vacation.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy what we post - this will be the last one for a while since we're not headed back to F&W next fall. :scared1:

The Ditch! Can we go now please and yes, I do realise it is 8:30 am my time and I don't care!:rotfl2:

I was going to type this exact response.:lmao:

Bendy, since you purchased APs does that mean you'll be taking another trip this year?

Probably not. Since we get the DVC discount on the APs and had a 10-day trip planned from a cost standpoint (adding in the TWIT card for the dining discount) we felt like it made more sense to buy the APs than to buy 10-day park hoppers.

Besides that ... we're outta DVC points until 2011 because we borrowed all of 2010 to cover X&Y's trip as well as some rentals we did for friendies this fall.

And then ... most of my 2010 vacation is already allocated for a trip to Vegas in May and the transatlantic cruise in September. Jay gets 4+ weeks so I guess he could always go without me. :sad2:

I suppose if a really good deal came out we could try to squeeze something in but it's highly doubtful.

Just as long as it's from Sept. 30th to Oct. 10th next year because that's our Food and Wine dates! So please squeeze away!:cool1:

That rules me out. :(

But I love the new name for Tables in Wonderland. The TWIT card.
