We are heading out on our first 7 night cruise in February. I was wondering how pictures work on formal night. Is it something you line up for or is it a reservations thing? Since everyone is gonna be all cleaned up, I would love a good family pic.

You just line up for them. Or you can set up a special photo shoot, but that costs extra.

Like PrincessShmoo said, just line up for them. It's like any other photo op with the main 6 except they are in their formal wear. We did Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Chip/Dale all after the late showing of Twice Charmed.

I suggest arriving early to stand in line. The navigators will say what time pictures are being taken, which normally starts at 5:15PM. From past experiences a lot of people take photos on formal night.

In addition to posing with the characters, you can also get a photo with the Captain and get some lovely photos of your family on the staircase or in front of some backdrops. As others have said, you can just jump in line and wait your turn. We've found that the lines actually move pretty quickly. Smile and say Cheese! :bitelip:
