Pictures of things No Longer Seen at WDW

Awesome pics all!!!! The ones that I really enjoy, probably because they so remind me of childhood trips are 20,000 leagues and the original journey\figment pics. For some reason those two rides resonate what Walt Disney World is to me and I really miss both of those attractions. 20K leagues more than any of them as I thought it was just AWESEOME as 10 or 12 year old too see those super cool subs floating around out there!

Okay, I'm not sure if this pic is from 78 or 80 of my little (now 42 year old) brother! Does anyone remember this? This was back in the era when you still had the A through E tickets but somehow my dad got these special "all-inclusive" badges (I think through GM somehow) that allowed you to go on ALL the rides as many times as you wanted! Yes, commonplace now but it was special then. I'm assuming it was 1980 since 78 was my first trip and I remember using the actual tickets and tearing them off and being stuck going on the train or whatever because all we had were A tickets left so guessing this was the next trip.

Those were called passports. We had them as far back as our first trip in 77. They were, I believe (I was 6 at the time) more expensive than the ticket books, but probably cheaper in the long run. If they hadn't been cheaper, there's no way my father would have bought them. And they were available to anyone, not just GM employees.

Anyway, they had stubs on the bottom for each day you had purchased admission for. The stub would be ripped off at the gate. You had to show the passport at every attraction, and it was very common to pin them, at least on children, to make sure they weren't lost. They also had a string on them by which they could be hung from a pin.

Here are some really nice histories of the ticket mediums.

What??!! She's gone? I didn't know that. I saw her two years ago, I thought I did. She's made some creations for quite a few of my family members. She's amazing.
Nevermind. I see she left in November 2013 in the following (now previous) posts.

It's great to see how much Disney has changed over the years. Thanks for sharing your wonderful photos everyone.

No, I know about the Earful tower, of course... but why did it look like that? I assumed it was a replica or something for flower and garden.

It was a topiary version on the backlot tour. The real tower was still there, too.

Not a Disney attraction, but I remember riding the monorail and 4-5 kids in strollers being in there at one time. Now? Was on with one family a couple days a go who had a double wide. There might have been room for a second, but a third or 4th? No way.

What was this?
That's the Adventurer's Club main room. If my memory serves me right, the man on the wall led everyone in the Adventurer's Club song. Then everyone went into various rooms for the shows. How did the song go? Marching along, we're adventurers....

IIRC, PUSH's internals were designed and built by an outside contractor. When the contract came up for renewal, they couldn't agree on terms.
