Pictures of things No Longer Seen at WDW

These pictures are wonderful! My parents could never afford to take me as a kid, so it's nice seeing what the parks may have looked like if I had gone during my childhood! Thankfully my parents have been able to attend all 3 WDW trips we've taken our kids on, so they still get to enjoy it through the eyes of a child, and a grandchild no less. I'm sure it's even more special.

Welcome to the DIS.

Very glad you have enjoyed the thread.

I was an adult the first time I went to WDW also. I think the magic works at any age if you let it.
Thanks for the warm welcome! And I agree! The first time I went was my 2nd year of college. My self and 3 friends drove 36 hours to WDW. We camped off site (because we were dirt poor) and only did 1 day at MK (and 1 day at IoA). My husband grew up in California so only had been to DL. I took him for the first time when we had been married for 3 years (our daugther was only 3 months old!). Thankfully he's as obsessed as I am now, and never questions my sanity when I annouce it's time for another WDW trip!

Mom just told me there was a stand outside of the Canadian Pavilion that sold these fried pastry dough things called beavertails. I myself don't remember them but Mom said they were there and they were yummy.

I use to LOVE these, but could only eat half...

Sorry this is off topic, but your comparison pictures are absolutely wonderful! I just showed my husband and we agreed to make this a Disney tradition for our family. What wonderful memories. I just hope that our kids still enthusiastically join us at WDW when they are teenagers!

Do the characters ever ride with the kids any more?
I felt so jealous when I seen kids riding with various Disney characters during the Sing-Along Songs that was in Disneyland circa 1990. I remember seeing a video of the Mad Hatter,Alice, and The Queen Of Hearts riding the carousel in Disneyland's fantasyland years ago. Imagine Walt Disney World doing that along with riding with you're favorite characters at It's A Small World?

Oh, thank you!! That's one of my most favorite planning activities now! This next trip in December I have an old i-phone filled with hundreds of photos sorted by park for reference so we can get the angles and order right for another round. I may or may not have also purchased a couple of men's XL Disney shirts off of ebay that exactly match the one my once "little" boy was wearing in pictures from 15 year ago . . .

Oh that is a fantastic idea! I have my old iphone sitting around and I will absolutely do that.

I will definitely be on the lookout for pictures when you return. I think it's wonderful!
