Hi, Everyone!

Does anyone have pictures of Rapunzel greeting at Disney World wearing any kind of winter coat or cape?

My daughter is going to wear her Rapunzel costume for Halloween and I am going to make a coordinating cape to go with it for warmth (we live in Michigan). I'm sure Rapunzel at WDW has some winter gear I could copy, but I have never seen it myself!

Every time we have ever seen her its been inside so never in anything other than her normal purple dress.

I just went through the MVMCP parade from last year because the other princesses are in their winter gear, and she wasn't in it that I saw. I can't find a winter outfit for her anywhere.

I'm not sure which park this is from, but I don't think it's that pretty anyway:

I probably should have just sent you a DM, since I knew you would have something! That is a cape similar to what I saw when I Googled it, but I wasn't sure if it was "official" or somebody doing a really, really good cosplay! I think I will try to make something in a similar purple but dispense with the blue lining.

Yeah that blue lining isn't grabbing me either. But then neither does the purple lining on Elsa's gown!

I just have a hard time liking any winter cloak without fur trim. I have a thing for fur trim!

Not sure how cold it will be by Halloween in Michigan, but my daughter wore a heavy lilac dance leotard under her Rapunzel dress the year that was her costume. It didn't really affect the looks IMO.

@mom2rtk, you are my inspiration! Yes, I'm thinking I will put fur trim on it because that will just be super cute. (The darn dress already has tons of trim, so why not add a bit more?) The picture on the stocking is exactly what I'm going for. I made her Anna cape last year out of fleece so it was super easy - no hemming required - so I may do the same thing again.

Here's the dress I made that will be getting the cape:

Well, how adorable :) You and @mom2rtk are just too talented! Come back and post pics of your cape. The fleece is a great idea.

We actually found a light pink under armour shirt and put it under our daughters sleeping beauty dress. It blended very well.

Even at DLP, she doesn't seem to get a cape! All the other Princesses there have winter outfits, but Rapunzel is obviously made of sterner stuff!

That's beautiful! You did a great job. And isn't that floral trim a PITA to sew on? Your little Rapunzel is just adorable and you can tell she loves her dress.

I always used animated images, including merchandise for inspiration, especially for those cloaks. I hope you'll post a photo of Rapunzel's cape when you're done!

That floral trim was seriously a pain. It doesn't look great up close - it puckers in a few spots. I probably should have ironed something on it to provide a little more stiffness and substance before sewing it.
