It is/was a gift shop. Here is a quote from the WDW site:

"Briar Patch - Temporarily Unavailable​

Shop located in Frontierland at Magic Kingdom Park
After your log flume ride, head to Br'er Rabbit’s home for Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad souvenirs."

...okay....I lost my bearing for a minute....I thought this was taken on the right side, after you cross over the viewing bridge. I definitely know where that gift shop is - I was thinking your photo was something else....mah bad.
