This is cool, wonder what it would have looked like if you could have framed the sun in the hoop?

Never thought of that. Im sure it could be photoshopped in but I wouldn't have a clue how to do it.

I went to the Santa Monica Pier in CA in March. It is a bit of a drive for me, about 45 minutes but it's close enough. I'll try and get shots of my area soon.

We were down in southern Maryland Tuesday helping our son move back from college for the summer. I love the campus which adjoins historic St. Mary's City in southern Maryland, first capital of Maryland and fourth permanent British settlement in North America.

That may not be the best picture, but it is alot more in focus than I am used to seeing Gillette Stadium! I'm used to seeing it through the beer goggles. :drinking1

These are just some interesting sunset photos from my back deck about 2 weeks ago. There was a bit (actually a lot!) of dust and smoke in the air, which I think is what made the most amazing colour. The whole yard glowed orange - really spooky! :scared1: :rotfl:

Thanks, everyone for all these photos - I love checking out where everyone lives!

Wow those photos make it look like your yard is in a river of molten lava...lol. Too cool.

Here are some baby Dakrats from North Dakota! They are some kind of gopher/prairie dog mix and are a major nuisance, but totally adorable!!

just wondering about these and the bridge shot...they are nice and sharp but i noticed the color is very saturated ( or something, they look different at least, not in a bad way, just different ) but just wondering if you have changed it or if the camera just takes it that way..guessing this is a sony alpha?

Yes this is from my new Alpha, :) The colours are saturated because I boosted them in Photoshop Elements 3.
But the reason they seem different is because they are HDR images created using a programme I found called Photomatix. This tends to give them a bit of a surreal effect which I like.:)
BTW -thanks for asking. :)

This photo is bothering me because the horizin through the cross is WAY off level. Now Im sure there is a way to correct this using a photoshop technique but I havent a clue.

Anybody know how this could be done using Photoshop Elements 3?

Use the "straightening" tool - in PE it's on the left side, under the star and above the eye! You can also use P to short-cut to the tool. Simply draw a line from one side of the photo to the other - in this case, you'd start higher on the right hand side, and drag it across and down to the bottom left hand corner. I think there's some ruler you can use to make sure your horizon is perfectly level, but I can't recall off hand where it is. I usually "eye-ball" it - repeating the process if need I didn't take enough off the first time.

Also, on the toolbar, there's a "canvas options" dropbox - select "crop to remove background", otherwise you'll have a white space at the top right hand corner of your photo.
