Picture Packages?

I am a picture junky and I definitely have trouble turning down a well taken picture. My DBF and I will be going on our first Disney cruise together and I am wondering how much the picture packages go for. I am also wondering how many pictures they actually take of you during the course of the four days onboard. Am I off base to think that they do not take as many pics of people travelling without children?

we cruised w/out children and had plenty of pics taken w/and w/out characters. the prices are 10 for $85; 15/$120; 20/$150. i got that info from the passporter crusie book, which i highly recommend. hope this helps!

The picuture packages are for the 4x6 pictures only!! Seems like all the good pictures we had were 8x10's & those are $19.95 a piece I beleive...

Hey Doc, you better get those eyes of yours examined. The pics in the packages are 8 x 6, not 4 x 6. LOL... just messing with you.

That is something to watch out for, for sure. I purchased a package, and only found out later that all of the "good" pictures are taken in 8x10 and not included in your package. Surprise, Surprise!

Edited to add: I mean all of the pictures of "good" quality-wise, I meant "good" as in the formal night, semi-formal night, etc.

I wish DCL would come up with a package that included the larger pictures as well! My husband and I were on a Norwegian Cruise this year and they have a deal where if you decide in the 1st three days of the cruise, you can get a package for somewhere around $200 that included every single picture they take of you during the cruise - big, small, posed, candid, etc.
Now that is a deal I would take with DCL!!
I bet it would be good for them, too. I would imagine that most people don't end up spending that much money on pictures, but if you told them they could have them all, they'd probably be willing to spend the money!

I FOUND IT, IT'S ON CASTAWAY CLUB'S WEBSITE, CLICK ON SHUTTERS RELEASE, YOU PUNCH IN YOUR SAIL DATE, RETURN DATE, SHIP NAME AND THEY'LL ISSUE YOU A 30 DAY RELEASE (DATED FROM THAT DATE, DON'T DO IT TOO EARLY). THEY RELEASE THE PICS TO BE DUPLICATED TO ANY LAB. THIS WAY YOU CAN BUY 1 FOR THE GROUP, AND GET THEM REPRINTED BACK HOME.

I never thought of it like that! I have a funny picture in my head now of a million families with kids in tow chasing down the poor photographers wherever they go! It wasn't like that on NCL, but then they don't cater to families like DCL does. There's just something about pictures of your kids!

We did the package of 20, just kept bumping it up, theyhad agreat shot and it was an 8x10, asked them to print in as a 4x6 and they did! No problems, not sure if we caught them at a slow point or not! But they did it!
